center of the front line in class) to demo the move he just taught us. But last night I was directly in the front of him and he didn't ask me to demo. Several times, he called the other sensei to demo with him. Ppl keep telling me I'm doing well in class. But I feel ignored and a bit embarrassed, like sensei either doesn't like me or think I'm good at karate! Am I being juvenile? Misreading things? Overthinking? What?

Isis-

Thanks for your reply! Good advice...it could've just been the moves. I must admit, sensei is a beautiful human being usually, super sweet guy and it seems genuine. So I should relax myself. Have Good Thanksgiving (if you're in the states?)! best, G

i think u are over reacting i myself am a taekwondo player and a varsity, at times the instructor will not always get the same person to be his demo partner, maybe to give chance to others, or to demonstrate it to the appropriate person, martial arts must teach a person to be patient and humble at all times, and always trust your master.. martial arts brings out character, it will make you a better person

Hi. Very interesting. No, you are not over reacting. That would make anyone curious. It could just be these particular moves and it doesn't mean anything. Do you usually get along? Ever felt he did not like you before? How long have you been with him? I am going to assume that it is just a coincidence, but keep your radar up. If this keeps happening, you will have to talk to him to clear it up or seek another dojo. That isn't right. Good luck! I bow to the Buddha nature within you. :)

Don't worry about who your sensei chooses to do demo's with . Learning is the important thing .

Ok, dont worry about the past, because it is the past.... so try to work harder, and do the best you can. The whole point is to learn self defense, not to please the sensei anyways. But i wish you the best of luck. salaam alaikum.
