jen you may be right it's not a real bite more kind of nuzzles with hiis mouth side on to my hand and then licks up my wrist for a while before going back for more nibbles. I dont come into any contact with other pets though, so maybe I just had clean clothes on with no scent.

No he is not gay! He is putting his scent on you. My male does that everyday because I come into contact with alot of other cats thru out the day. As soon as I get home he's in my lap wanting pet, and he doesn't really bite he just kind of mouths me never sinks his teeth in or anything. It is just to make those other cats I see during the day know I am his and not theirs.

Some cats are attracted to natural scent. Put a stinky shoe next to the cat and watch it go wild. The cat is probably in love with your natural odor.

He is either playing with you or he is protecting his 'mom' from you. He may see you as a competitor- a new tom on the block, and this time dangerously close to his lass. He'll get over it if he sees you enough. Maybe take him a snack like some dried fish or a sardine. He'll love you then. Be friendly and tell your girlfriend to acknowledge him when you are there.

Are you covered in cat nip? Cats are greatly affected by smell. My cat goes completely insane when I open a tin of tuna, nothing gets in her way and she starts making the most incredible noises.
If you want to push him away, try peeling an orange or a mandarine next to him....he'll run away very fast!

Actually I think you've probably been giving him too much attention and he is becoming possisve and obsessive about you. Try giving him a playful kick every time he comes near you or bring in a neighbours dog to see him. I'm sure he'll soon be cowering in the corner leaving you alone to surf the web.

Animals lick for salt - my cat will have a 'play fight' with me, I end up with scratches and small 'nips' for marks from the teeth. Your girlfriends tom cat is probably neutered, as is mine, he acting in a quite natural way for friendly cats.

He probably just wants to snuggle - it's not a gay cat - my cats are both girls and they both do that
