Using the Xphome reinstall and having the hdd intact and was not able to access to the my document folder. While no problem with those folder on it root directory.

I'm assuming you meant crash. When asking computor questions it's a good idea to put what OS you are using and a few more details

Try restoring your computor to a prevous date

Win98-Reboot to DOS or command prompt whatever it says and at the c prompt type in scanreg/restore

WinXP go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore

Without more info on the condition of the drive, can not give a specific answer....

Put the hard drive into another computer as a second drive and see if you can access and copy the files. Can also chkdsk and run recovery software on it while hooked as a second disk drive. Check for download.com for several good programs for recovering deleted files.
