I know to many this response may seen insensitve, but honestly, not having sex with the partner may be the best decision. Using a condom is obviously a good idea, but that is not a fail safe protector from the virus.

I know that sharing sex is a very important piece of love and intimacy, but if you know someone is infected, you are taking a huge risk.

If this is a risk you want to take, then you must atleast be ready to accept full responsiblity if you contract the disease.

That is a big choice, and would be something very hard to live with if you did.

Being there in all the ways you can for this person, besides sexually, might be the healthiest choices for you both.

Good luck to both of you

To minimize the risk of sex with someone HIV+:

Use a condom with lubrication, this will minimize tears in the tissue and prevent the bulk of bodily fluid exchange.

Practice oral sex instead of vaginal or anal sex. It is easier to get HIV from receiving anal sex than from oral sex.

In the long term you will get HIV no matter what precautions you take with your partner.

Truthfully, the only thing out there that would be of any use in decreasing the risk of transmission would be a condom. No spermicides will kill the virus. Birth control pills, rings, shots, diaphragms, cervical caps...none of these have any effect against the virus.

Either strap up - for oral, anal and vaginal intercourse - or choose a new partner. And see about making an appointment for testing and information. Good luck.

You could use a condom. That is the only precaution that you can take. You should talk to your doctor about that matter if you still have questions. Just remember that condoms are not 100% affective.

well if you want to go all the way, you have to use a condom. and make sure to *** outside of the body. because even if your using condoms there might be possibilities that it would break.

you can also enjoy sex through kissing and mutual jerking off with out actually going through intercourse. and toys can be of good use too...

and if you're into oral sex just make sure that either of you have mouth sores.

HIV is a disease that you must not be afraid of. you just have to go through responsible sex and learn to stimulate your partner in more ways than one...
