Let me say from the start, I am 16 and definitely not a hypochondriac. It seems that over the past two years, my health has been slowly deteriorating, one problem after the next. First, I had achilles tendonitis, which hurt me when I played sports. This has been going on for three years. I have had physical therapy, orthotic inserts, heel lifts, and those don;t help. Second, I had chest pain. i would have to stop whatever I was doing and stand there for 30-45 seconds while thousands of knives stabbed my chest. It occurred randomly .i saw a cardiologist who did an EKG, then said nothing was wrong and sent me on my way. i still get the pain, just less frequently.Used to be everyday, now its twice a month or so. Third, I have memory loss and insomnia, started happening at the same time. My mother won't allow me to take sleeping pills. For the memory loss, Its not dates, but words, people, faces. I stared at a blender for minutes because I forgot what it was called.

Next, I have knee problems in both knees. Everytime I bend them, I feel pain. Somedays its painful to walk. The orthopedic surgeon told me it was 'chondrmalacia patella', and gave me physical therapy and a knee brace. Neither worked. Then I got orthotic inserts again, for the purpose of fixing my foot alignment to help the knee. Hasn't worked. I also got physical therapy two more times, and have done all the exercises and still do them, and yet, it gets worse. I have random muscle spasms in them now. Lastly, this has started happening last month, my right eye has started twitching, just a spastic movement. I don;t want to see any more doctors, as all they do is waste my parent's money. None of these things have been cured, and I don;t know what to do, As I write this, my eye is twitching. I wear contacts, but right now I am wearing glasses, and it happens with both. Please someone, help me with all these probles. Please.

Right, thanks for reminding me. i was diagnosed with asthma three years ago, but the chest pains are unrelated to it. I do spend time outside of school oding a lot of things, hanging with friends, movies, games, volunteering. I just need to know what is wrong!

I have seen my pediatric doctor, and she has blood tested me three times for bacterial, viral and specifically Lyme disease. All negative. I have told her these problems, and even the secretary at the palce sat next to me and *sweetly but also freaking hilarious* prayed for me.

Just to clarify, I have never or am currently depressed. Just sort of tired of the pain, like a movie that sucks and just won't end.

I am alot older than u, but I HAVE GONE YRS WITH PAIN I UNDERSTAND! As for your knees, tendonitis etc. I have all have never really had much help either, I get so depressed I cant even wear shoes I want to wear, the one thing I do know is that constant pain, causes depression and stress, and the 2 of them cause more pain and physical symptoms, I to have my eye twitch,at times memory loss, and chest pain. I would like to address these with you in the hopes of helping, I am not a Dr. but since I have alot of the same health issues, I feel I can at least tell u what some of my health issues are, 1st and foremost I finnally realized alot of my extra issues did and do revolve from the stress and depression constant pain causes, so I went to a phycologist and he said yes I was right, I am on meds for depression and anxiety, not a cure all, but at least now I cope better with my health issues, and even get good nights sleep, I still have nights I am up and down due to severe knee and foot pain, but overall I am doing much better. I saved ur chest pain for last, I to had ekgs several before surgeries and all showed all ok, but u know I really questioned that, so I had a stress test and a sonogram done, I have 3 heart murmurs and some kind of wall around my heart, the cardioligist I had has been a heart dr.for 30 yrs. and has no idea what it is has never even seen anything like it, its a possibility I was born w/ this. I in no way am saying u have any heart condition, but I AM TRYING TO STRESS PLEASE HAVE A HEART STRESS TEST DONE & SONOGRAM. There are plenty of other reasons for that pain in the chest and anxiety is for sure 1 of them, to be safe have your lungs cked. also, and any blood work u feel u may need, even be cked for allergies they can cause alot of health issues. PLEASE talk to ur mother I hope she will let u see someone for depression and anxiety that is where I would start 1st, and if no help after say 30 days, would say get any and all medical test u feel u need. As for memory loss, pain, depression, medications, lack of the sleep u need r all good reasons for this, seems like since the onset of the injuries and the constant pain, all has caused a HUGE SNOWBALL EFFECT & NO U R NOT A HYPOCHOHDRIAC, U R a young person going thru a hard time. I hope u let your mother read this and all your answers so u and her can discuss your next step. 1 more thing read up on handling pain, pain mgmt. books or a meeting is another helpful avenue, I wish u all the best, hope some of this info helps, and have GREAT HOLIDAYS AND 2007 WILL BE A GREAT AND HEALTHIER YEAR FOR U!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no treatment with medical science to any of your problems, therefore your problem is becoming chronic day by day. You will have to shift over to alternate systems of medicines.
For insomnia purchase a strong round magnet. You should keep your neck on south pole and sleep. Ask your parents to remove the magnet as soon as you sleep. Initially magnet should not be used more than 20 minutes each 12 hours. This can arrest your memory loss also. Therefore do this carefully.
The pain in chest can be due to your brain problem also. Don't worry, approach a skilled acupuncturist or think visiting us if possible for your all problems.

It is a good decision that your mother does not allow you to take sleeping pills. Insomnia can be a symptom of a more serious underlying medical illness. I would suggest that you or your mother schedule an appointment for you to see your doctor ( pediatrician or family doctor will be fine ) and get a full physical along with lab work. Your doctor will know best what needs to be checked. Rather than going to a doctor for each individual problem it is best to schedule a physical so you can go over your overall health. Take a list of questions for your appointment along with a list of ALL your medical complaints so that they can be adressed in accessing your overall health. Then take it from there. Good luck.

You have tried everything else, why not find a good chiropractor and see what he has to say.
What you have presented is suggestive of a pretty advanced neurological problem as well as a structural problem. The neurological aspect involves the autonomic system... the non clear thoughts would indicate you have a pretty good structural problem in the upper neck which has caused a bit of rotation of the C.1 vertebra which would restrict the blood flow to the brain.
At your tender years, the response should be very satisfactory.

I don't really have any of those... Kind of the money problem because I am a poor college student but my parents help me out a lot so that is really appreciated. As far as the love department, I have been single for about 2 years but I honestly think it's God's will. I mean, I am incredibly indicisive and still trying to figure out who I am. Plus, being single and on the edge of 21 is a pretty damn good time. Cheers :-)

You got a smart mom, and perhaps you are just really having a lot of extra stress, you said that some thing happened and you can't play sports so find some thing else you might be interested in that can make you happy. What that is only you know? collecting some thing, fishing, reading, helping someone else, you have a lot to offer we all do we just have to figure it out. I am sure that one of these days you will and hold your head up okay?

Have u ever been to a naturilist doctor. There
are many natural herbs and medicines that deal
with helping one that has chronic pains, and
asthma also. Get some test results from the
naturalist doctor and maybe the natural things
might be better for u.

Possibly you have asthma, or some sort of lung problem...that could account for pains in your chest. Also, if your lungs aren't working properly, neither will your brain......
And with that add on, maybe you have fibromyalgia, or chronic fatique syndrome.......
Try a neurologist or a rhumatologist..

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.
