toothpaste will polish all silver
get a rag or even an old tooth brush (if its really dingy)
wet the silver
and then scrub with the toothpaste
works great and you dont have to go out and buy something special

How to clean Silver at home?
Methods of cleaning silver should be determined by the valued placed on it--monetary or sentimental & the design of the pattern.
Tools & Materials required:
• high quality silver cream or polish
• lukewarm water
• rags & gloves
Silver with deeply "carved" patterns that are enhanced by an oxide or French gray finish should be hand polished with a high quality silver cream or polish. You can buy the silver cream and polish in some jewelleries shop or find them at the DIY or Home section in the supermarkets.
Hand rubbing develops patina on silver which adds to its beauty.
Ornamental silver pieces or jewelleries that have been lacquered may be washed in lukewarm water; hot water could remove the lacquer.

Line the kitchen sink with aluminium foil, fill the sink with hot water and put your silver into it. Leave to soak for about 20 minutes, remove, dry and give a final buff. Sorted.

Best and easiest way is to soak them in coke - honestly !
If you wanna test it out first, put and old dirty penny in to a glass of coke, leave it for a couple mins and see the results - sparkly new.
Remember to wash the cutlery afterwards in hot soapy water to take away the stickiness of the coke !

I think the best way is with silver polish. You can get it at grocery stores, Wallmart.
It has a sponge and you wet it and works great.

Dissolve washing soda in hot water, add some aluminium foil, and put in your silver for 2 minutes or so.

I find by not screwing around on the internet and actually cleaning them with oh i don't know a rag and your hands helps...

Soak them in a basin of vinegar and baking soda. Then wipe them dry and you will see the shine...
