What does it mean to you? Moreover, in the context of all the other words that Jesus spoke, the replies He got from different types of people and their violent reaction, what is more important is what YOU think they mean. It is between you and the One who spoke these words. Since He is still living, surely it would be better if He explained the meaning to you.
It's no good getting second hand knowledge and understanding, for you will become simply a replica of someone else's understanding. Replicas fill the planet and they are all automatons of each other.
How you may ask, is Jesus going to explain the meaning to you? Simple, by the same Spirit that showed Him all He knew How do receive the Holy Spirit to interpret and teach you the meaning of His words? Surely you know the answer to this question.
So, dear friend, although I completely understand the meaning of this passage, it may not be what you can receive from me right now. There is such a thing as spiritual indigestion. Jesus had to sometimes NOT impart things saying, 'there are many things to tell you but it would be too much for you to bear right now.'
First things first, if you don't know the Holy Spirit I suggest you seek Him. If you do, ask Him, and He will tell you everything. How? By dropping the answer into your mind. It's called 'inspiration' - 'to in breath' His truth into your mind directly from His mind to yours. And when He does that - you'll know about it all right!
Hope this is helpful.
