A fasting glucose of 115 in a 26 year old is most likely normal although taking a few readings on different days makes this easier to know for certain. Although 115 may be normal the average non diabetic tends to record lower fasting gluocse levels than this. Take a few more readings and then ask your question again. I hope that subsequent readings will be lower.

It really has nothing to do with your age. It will vary with what you do, your stress level and what you eat. Here is some information from a website on normal blood sugars when you have and have not eaten anything.:

The amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood changes throughout the day and night. Your levels will vary depending upon when, what and how much you have eaten, and whether or not you have exercised. The American Diabetes Association categories for normal blood sugar levels are the following, based on how your glucose levels are tested:
A fasting blood glucose test. This test is performed after you have fasted (no food or liquids other than water) for eight hours. A normal fasting blood glucose level is less than 110 mg/dl. A diagnosis of diabetes is made if your blood glucose reading is 126 mg/dl or higher. (In 1997, the American Diabetes Association lowered the level at which diabetes is diagnosed to 126 mg/dl from 140 mg/dl.)

A "random" blood glucose test taken at any time. A normal blood glucose range is in the low to mid 100s. A diagnosis of diabetes is made if your blood glucose reading is 200 mg/dl or higher and you have symptoms of disease such as fatigue, excessive urination, excessive thirst or unplanned weight loss.

Depends of when you took it. If it was fasting glucose (without having eaten in the last 8 hours) then the 115 is a little high and i would recommend if you measured again. If it's still higher than 100 you have what is called "altered fasting glucose" and you should see your doctor. If you got tested in a random hour of the day and you had eaten a few hours before, then its absolutely normal

depends on a couple things mostly when did you eat last. If its been more than 4 hours than yes its high. Another important thing to remember is to always wash your hands before testing and not just because of germs but also because if the last thing you ate was a brownie, using your hands to eat it, you have all kinds of sugar on your hands. So if you are wondering if your sugar levels are high you prob just need to go to the Dr and get tested by a professional.

In most cases you want your BGL below 100. But there are factors to it being slightly increased some of them as follows: high carb meal, high suger dessert, dehydrated, alcohol, weight, family histoy and so on. While it is not extremly high it is above "normal". I have seen BGL's as high as 800 and it was common for that person to be at 300.

It's not high, but if you hadn't had anything to eat approximately eight hours prior to the test it should be a few points lower depending on the scale that was used to do the test. Peace!
