If you can easily afford a medical visit do so immediately! Even otherwise don't risk something bad because of a possibly wrong advise. Take care of yourself medically in a serious way as 3 weeks is a long time to remain ill. I do think you need medical help (at least call a doc if expenses are too much).
I would suggest you visit http://www.savior.org/ (Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament LIVE), pray to Him. Read http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/isaiah/isaiah53.htm Its a kind of prophecy (message given 700 years before Jesus' birth) about how God loved us so much that He came in the form of Jesus to save us all (not only our souls but also heal our bodies). Also read the Gospel of John (speaks of God's love): http://nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/john/john1.htm
I'm only giving suggestions to help you, please do visit a doc. I feel when we are aware that God loves us, our pain becomes overshadowed by this feeling and this relationship we experience, it gives us the strength to keep going on thru all of life's hurdles. Remember that you don't loose anything by giving my religious based suggestions a shot. Even if you choose to follow the prayer based stuff I still strongly suggest you go to the doc.
Take care
EDIT: Hey here are some music videos related to my suggestions. You gotta watch this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsdEQH5Yywk

You definitely need to go to a doctor. They are the only one who can tell you what you need in regards to medication. If it is bronchitis and that's all, most likely you will not be on antibiotics since most all bronchitis is caused by a virus. However, if you wait any longer you could get worse, develop (or already have) an infection, or have to be hospitalized. First of all, if you smoke or are around people who smoke, stop or get away from them. Smoke will only prolong and make bronchitis worse. Your cough will already last more weeks to months because your lungs are trying to heal, so try and stay away from smoke while your lungs repair themselves. You also need to increase your fluid intake, especially water, no caffeine. You also need to introduce a humidifier into your bedroom to help with liquefying your secretions. Ask your docotor about the possibility of getting an albuterol inhaler to use at home when you feel short of breath. This will help "open" up your lungs and help you cough out the secretions easier. You can also try to deep breathe and cough. I know that it may be painful, but taking slow deep breaths in (as deep as you can, slowly) followed by relaxing breath out 5-10 times, followed by coughing every hour will help bring the mucus up and clear out the lungs. Don't ever just take the advice of others on whether to stay at home and "sweat it out." Go to a doctor today, don't wait another day just to see what people have to say! Take care of yourself, your health is extremely important.

I don't know who told you there is no treatment for bronchitis, but they were obviously not in the health care field. Go to the doctor the sooner the better. This is a breathing problem and needs immediate intervention. For all you know you have pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon.

Anything to put your mind at ease, you should do. In this case, yes, you should go to the doctor. The doctor can then verify the nature of the bronchitis you have (if it is even bronchitis at all). The doctor may prescribe you antibiotics. Either way, you should see your doctor and explain everything, even explaining how you want to have peace of mind.

well..that was ur first mistake..stopping the medication because you "felt better". comming from someone who's had lots of UPRI's i say. drink lots of fluids, get rest, dont exercise too much. u need to eat still, if you cant keep a meal down try liquid diet. ur gonna need all teh fluids in your body to flush out whats in your lungs. if you have an inhaler use that, it'll help you breathe. otherwise use a humidifier. it will liquify the mucus in your lungs and help you cough it out. dont use any cough suppressents b/c thats ur bodys natural response to get all the crap outa ur lungs. if coughing hurts you use cough drops or sprays to soothe. take pain killers for pain, and just take deep breaths. get rid of the mucus asap or else it will get infected. if your mucus you cough up is yellowish or green then your getting an infection or already have one. if problems persist see your doctor. this stuff will help because i've had it many times w/o seeing a doctor and taking meds unless it got worse. :)
it doesnt sound like pneumonia....u dont have the symptoms for pneumonia. i've had bronchitis lots of times and i've coughed for almost a month before it went away..but then again..thats just me

Yes, you should go to the doctor. True, the only cure for a viral infection is rest, and some may last up to three months! yikes! The best thing to do other than going back to the dr. is take a multivitamin daily, drink plenty of water, and rest as much as your lifestyle will allow.

Go to the doctor! It sounds like your bronchitis turned into an infection...or worse yet, pneumonia! At the least, demand an antibiotic.

Go to the doctor. I had the same problem a few months ago, and he perscribe this cough syrup that is very strong that once I take it I stop coughing immediately. The most important thing right now is for you to stop coughing. Not just resting!
Or it will become a long term problem.

You should go to the doctor, it could be something other than bronchitis, if it is bronchitits the doctor should be able to give you something to help with the mucus and something to help you breathe.

Bronchitis needs antibiotics, whoever told you otherwise is a quack. Now it sounds like you may have developed a pnuemonia. By all means get to a doctor.
