Hi there, although I do not have herpes there is an excellent medication which we use in the hospital for patients that have herpes outbreaks which is called Valtrex. It is expensive, I believe nearly $5 a pill, but when taken correctly it has a 99% suppression rate & will decrease viral shedding. I've heard from my patients that it is excellent and works a lot quicker than other medications, many have not had symptoms of an outbreak for up to three years since taking this medication.
Best of luck!
