Actually, NO.
All 50 states have legal provisions that ensure that minors can consent to their own STD screens and protect the confidentiality of those results. Many states allow minors to consent to all sexual health care (including abortions, but that's another matter altogether). In California, all persons over the age of 12 are entitled to consent to their sexual health care (testing, birth control, abortions, deliveries, etc.).
So doctors do NOT give the results to the parents.
If you are young and looking to get tested for STDs, call Planned Parenthood at 1.800.800.PLAN or call your local public health department for clinic information.

It is illegal and unethical for a doctor (at least in the State of California) to tell your parents anything. If you are under 18 the doctors hands are tied. They can't tell your parents anything, (it could endanger some teens lives, alcoholic or drug using parents, violent parents). The answer is no and if the doctor did, then file malpractice.

yes if you are under 18. if you are over 18, its illegal to tell your parents or anyone.
Patient Doctor confidentiality doesnt apply to minors. I work as a counselor, and i have to know the laws very well about confidentiality. Parents have "priveledge" to anything dealing with their children.
