I was planning to serve some tortillas ,and salsa verde with the turkey , flan .I'm looking at some Indian bread recipes , would like to know if there is a condiment I should have on table for Indians .but I have no clue what Brit's might like ,maybe a desert thats common to them or do you think I should just stick to traditional American and family favorites.

If they're all coming to visit for this very American holiday, let them just enjoy the traditional foods. If you went to visit them for a holiday, wouldn't you want to try everything the way it's suppossed to be?

It's so nice that you're hosting so many people! Good luck!

Tortillas and Spotted Dick...Now, that's just not right - lol - Thanksgiving is an American tradition. Your guests from other countries will appreciate an authentic meal in your family's own way of celebrating. They have not come all this way to eat what they get back home. Imagine visiting Mexico City and being served hamburgers and hot dogs. That would not be special to you. I think is is lovely that you are entertaining these people and sharing your culture with them..

Stick to the traditional favorites.

The tradition doesn't affect anyone's potential religious conflicts in terms of what they are allowed to eat, unless the have to have a kosher turkey.

When I went overseas, I didn't want to eat the food I was accustomed to. I wanted to taste the food as another means of experiencing part of their culture.

I am certain they will want the same.

Personally I'd stick with the traditional American dishes. I know if I were in a different country, I'd want to try their traditional dishes to see what the holiday was all about.

here is an authentic Indian naan bread recipe...It is delicious but alot of work...I dont think it is necessary for you....another option would be to either buy some bread...make a banana bread and add a little prepared chai tea to the batter...or offer another dessert...

naan bread
INGREDIENTS
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 egg, beaten
2 teaspoons salt
4 1/2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons minced garlic (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand about 10 minutes, until frothy. Stir in sugar, milk, egg, salt, and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead for 6 to 8 minutes on a lightly floured surface, or until smooth. Place dough in a well oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and set aside to rise. Let it rise 1 hour, until the dough has doubled in volume.
Punch down dough, and knead in garlic. Pinch off small handfuls of dough about the size of a golf ball. Roll into balls, and place on a tray. Cover with a towel, and allow to rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
During the second rising, preheat grill to high heat.
At grill side, roll one ball of dough out into a thin circle. Lightly oil grill. Place dough on grill, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until puffy and lightly browned. Brush uncooked side with butter, and turn over. Brush cooked side with butter, and cook until browned, another 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from grill, and continue the process until all the naan has been prepared.

Here is a Kulfi (dessert) recipe...

INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 cups evaporated milk
1 1/4 cups sweetened condensed milk
1 (16 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
4 slices white bread, torn into pieces
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
DIRECTIONS
Combine evaporated milk, condensed milk and whipped topping in a blender and blend in pieces of bread until smooth.
Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish or two plastic ice cube trays, sprinkle with cardamom and freeze for 8 hours or overnight.
