Yes!!! All medical information is confidential (Privacy Act and HIPAA). The only time that the "tests" would not be is when public health would release the information but only for public health purposes/research (i.e 12% of Texans have HSV, increase from 3% from last year NOTE this is just an example). Your personal information would be kept confidential. If ANY personal information is released without your consent you can sue their butts!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!! While your Dr. may report the number of cases of STD's he/she has treated your name is never given. IF it has been then you need to act the HIPPA Law is very strict this day and age and will not tolerate the breech of confidentiality.

they are unless you are positive on a test and they report it annommsy to cdc or in your case your mama
