I have spoken to my friend (a devout Catholic) and she said that everybody sins (including her) because it's a way of modern life - lying for example...

It seems no, according to the majority, but there are lots of interesting answers so I'm letting this one go to the voters.

Thanks for answering.

It is completely impossible, especially as the catholics consider us born sinners because we are born through our parents having sex- which is a sin. We're doomed before we even begin.

I don't think you should worry too much about sin, just try to live your life the best way you can, we all screw up occassionally throughout the journey of life, but recognising you made a mistake is half the work of trying to repent it, so to speak. Help people, care about people, and make yourself the best you that you can be. That is what is important. Then, we you passover to the next life, you can continue the good work ahead of the people who just messed around and didnt care anyway, or those that didn't do bad things just because they were afraid to. You need to make mistakes to learn. You'll get further ahead if you just live life.

I'd just like to add that the concept of sin is not held by all religions or all people.
For instance, Buddhists would hold that we are capable of wrong behaviour - and that, of course, is unavoidable - and that this will be worked out through the course of future lives as we move towards Nirvanah.
I'm not saying if they're right or wrong; just pointing out that there are other ways of perceiving the world which may be equally valid.
There's no doubt that, historically, the concept of sin has been used as big stick to keep people in line. As John Cleese, of all people, once had it: Religion is at its worst when being used as a kind of crowd control.

Its not just the way of modern life. Since Adam sinned, sin was passed on to man because Adam represented man and sinned. Jesus said none are good. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Its nothing new. Nobody goes through life without sinning. That's why we need Jesus.

Everyone is born into sin. Sin is another term for imperfection. In the Bible at Romans Chapter 5 and at verse 12 it tells you that in the garden of Eden sin entered into the world. Adam was a perfect man when he was obedient to his God. When he disobeyed his God by joining in with Eve to eat the fruit, he became imperfect. This condition he passed on to his offspring. The entire human race inherited sin. We all miss the mark of perfection.

Its possible

Depends what a sin is.

Some people believe that right/wrong or good/bad are moral labels given to the actions of individuals.

A sin is normally the breaking or a religious law. Therefore under Christian scripture, if I killed my friend out of greed, this is a sin. In this instance I believe no man can leave a sin free life unless mentally incompetant to reason with his action.

Only the death of an inoccent baby and the life of animals who only have instincts die without sin.

Remember Jesus called 'Why have you forsaken me?'. He questioned his father....is that a sin?

There is no such thing as a sin. Even if you go with what the Bible says then lying is not a sin. False testimony is supposedly a sin. Saying I'm 21 when I'm really 25 is not a sin.

Not me, i am not a sinner. [Flapping my black wings ]. Personally i dont think there is a single person who can say they have never sinned. Just looking at another man or woman and desiring them is a sin and that happen's everyday. We are all sinners but most of us try our best to live clean and sinless lifes i strife to but helll i sin just as much as anybody else. Specially by wishing i was rich, wishing i had loads of clothes, wishing i was beautiful and had a beautiful body etc etc and stuffing my face with chocolates:)

No, it is not possible.
As we are human beings and are prone to committing minor (backbite, slander, lye, steal,) sins all the time. Everyone commits (minor) sins but the best one is the one who immidiately repents and seeks forgiveness from God, the Creator. And strives to not do it again and has remorse and regret.

According to Islam, so long as a person does not fall into major sins such as; murder, fornication/adultery, drinking alcohol, doing transactions with interest/usury, gambling,

Minor sins like; backbite, slander, lye, steal are reagrded as minor sins, which most people commit. But to avoid deliberately commit these sins as God is watching and we will be held accountable after death.

It is truely impossible to go through life without sinning.
It's like trying to live without breathing.
But all is not lost. The Lord Jesus died to offer forgiveness to whoever repents and realises that their sin offends God.
The scripture tells us that we were born in sin and sin our mother concieved us.
It's unescapable i'm afraid.
Trust Christ and he will forgive all your sin, then you will be without the judgement due for your sin.
God bless, have a good day!

It is physically impossible not to sin. Everyone sins. Sin means to miss the mark or make a mistake. No one is perfect.
