I have been told that you can eat a skunk, only if it is cooked in ginger and red wine. Does anyone have the recipe?

I know this is another way to cook them, my weird uncle uses it. Why don't you just eat something normal?

French Fried Skunk

1½ hours cook time, 20 min prep time, 3-4 servings

Ingredients:

2 skunks, skinned and cleaned

1 tablespoon salt

water, to cover

2 cups bear fat or lard

2 egg yolks, beaten

3 cups milk or cream

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons baking powder

Preparation:

1. Clean and wash the skunks, making sure that the scent glands are removed.

2. Cut up into small serving pieces.

3. Put a soup kettle on the stove and add the meat.

4. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over high heat.

5. Lower the heat and boil until the meat is tender, about 40 minutes.

6. Remove all the scum that rises to the surface.

7. Make a batter by mixing together the egg yolks, milk, flour, salt and baking powder.

8. Mix real good until the batter is about like cake batter.

9. Heat the bear fat or lard in a deep fryer to about 360 degrees.

10. Dip the pieces of skunk in the batter and then fry them in the deep fryer until golden brown.

11. Drain well and serve.

Try a Road Kill Cafe. I'm sure it's possible to eat a skunk if it was cooked in ginger and red wine, but I think the real question is: WOULD YOU?

I am sure it is possible to eat skunk the way you said it was marinated. I don't know if it tastes any good, though. I do not have a recipe but I am positive that you can google one or someone on here will be able to provide one for you. Are you having it for Thanksgiving dinner? Seems a little bizarre but we are omnivores and we can eat just about anything and call it dinner.

My friend, on earth all things are possible. People have been known to eat dog, cats, monkeys, alligators and bats, so why not skunks. It has also been known for man to eat man. All I would say, is that you make sure you use plenty of pepper as I am sure when you are sucking the bones you will want to get the best flavor possible. By the way, what would you eat it with, Rice or french fries?

Friends in LA tell me the only way to get rid of the smell is tomato ketchup - and that goes for washing your car tyres when you've run over one too. Maybe ginger would work, providing you were drunk as one.

Why would anyone want to eat a skunk? And Even if you wanted to I don't think it would taste very good! Or smell very good; they all have super strong smells so if you don't barf from the taste you will definitely barf from the smell.

I tasted snake when we went to Thailand but never skunk. But I would try it if it had a lot of mushrooms, cause I love mushrooms.

Really don't fancy that one and I'll try anything once, just think how bad your breath will smell afterwards, maybe if you swop the ginger for garlic.
