Its NORMAL to be scared. You need to be tested even though you are scared.

Usually, you can talk to an HIV counselor before you take the test - - they are really nice and will discuss treatment if you test positive OR ways to protect yourself if you dont have it.

Just because you may have HIV does not mean that you will develop AIDS. However, you need to take care of yourself and get treatment if you are HIV positive.

Even I was afraid to take the test when I first got pregnant although I had only been with my husband - - the normal reaction is FEAR because we know how serious the disease is.
I tested negative and im currently 27 weeks pregnant. I was so concerned, I couldnt even sleep!

Get tested, pray and trust in the lord :)

I had to get tested when I got pregnant and I was very scared even though I am married and have only been with 5 people my whole life all protected and long term relationships. It was very freeing to get tested and know you are not positive, plus HIV is not a death sentence anymore. Please get tested you will feel so much better! Also, it does not take 2 weeks for an answer anymore. Most places can tell you the same day or the next.

Get Tested! Fear is natural. To be honest, I was afraid to get tested. I have had many partners over the years, (over 100, unprotected by my 18th birthday). I was made to get an AIDS test by the woman I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with.

If it had not been for her, I would have never been tested. I never tested positive fo HIV or AIDS and to this day, (married eight years to the same woman), I still get tested every six months.

I have been in three monogomous relationships since age 21, and have not slept around. But I want to be sure that I do not carry anything remotely resembling AIDS or HIV.

Fear may be the only thing that saves your life!

It would be pretty selfish of you not to take an aids test. You are only thinking of yourself and not the people around you. If you are protecting yourself then you have nothing to worry about. If you continue on and not get tested and god forbid you are infected, think about the others that you could have posibbly infected, or will infect. Do you really wanna be resposible for that all because your to afraid to find out? Take the test, I bet you have nothing to worry about! PEACE LOL.

i totally understand!! go get urself checked and fast. they should be able to tell u after a week. i heard that if u think u have been exposed to HIV it could take up to 6 months for a blood test to read it. but then after u go, hopefully everything is fine and from then on, just make sure that u keep urself as protected as possible... it is soooo easy to get diseases like that and a lot of us take that for granted... and yeah... it is against the law to hide the fact u have HIV / AIDS from a partner so just be up to date on ur health, u really should be aware of whats goin on in ur body.

Well, the most important reason to find out is so you can spare the people you sleep with. If you think you may have a chance of being HIV positive, it is your duty and moral responsibility to get tested. It is very irresponsible to keep having sex knowing there is a chance of you having and passing on this fatal disease.

You can get tested without getting "tested"..simply donate blood. the American Red Cross automatically screens all the blood, and will notify you if you happen to carry the HIV virus.
