There are many STD's that do not present symptoms for a long time after exposure or never. You have to see an ob/gyn and have a pap and culture to get tested.

u have 2 have tests done 2 varify the sti/std but u may tell on ur own due 2 differences in discharge (heavier, thicker, smellier often discribed as youghurt like or cottage cheese with a yeasty smell) redness, sore/itchy/ burning uncomfortableness and possible swelling of the valva but sum people might not get any or only a few symptoms but theres no harm done having a test done just 2 b on the safe side if u suspect u may have 1. its along the same lines 4 males aswell they get a discharge and the redness, sore/itchy/ burning uncomfortableness and possible swelling but also they may find the foreskin is sensitive 2 pull back. depending on what it is u/they have depends on how long it takes 2 show up. id say from a week to as much as 3 months. hopefully u get the all clear gd luck x

you can not...they do not have any..unless they are in advanced stages of the different diseases...
no one shows any signs, but they can pass it on, give it to others and then they will become carriers too, and also pass it on to others and not know it...
some people come down with it very fast ..a few months, and there have been cases that it has been several years, and for those several years some of those HEALTHY looking people have been giving the diseases to others...
there basically only one way to actually know for sure...have them tested and you look at the actually results from the doctors office, THEN wait any where for 6 months to a year and have then tested again....and if this one comes back OK, then maybe they are clean.....
the other way to know..is abstinence....totally...
a lot of people KNOW they have aids, herpes, warts, and what ever and DO NOT say anything to any one..hey they want to get busy too, and they do not care, because they already have it and they do not care if others get it...a lot of people do this..then you have the ones who think they are clean adn are not, then you have the ones who were tested and came back clean but are carrying it ...and the test did not show it, because it is going to take another year for this person to show up on the test...
very tricky stuff these days, because there is not just one simple answer or one test....and most of these disease never ever go away for life, and a few kill..........
and you know the medical field are now taking tests for DNA and aids from the tissues of the mouth, and guess what, if their is liquids in the mouth, saliva, ..then maybe you can catch it there too....why do you think it is an assault to now spit on someone, because aids can be transferred this way.......
be careful very careful

good luck

Unless there are some visual signs that something is wrong in that region, you don't have any way of knowing, till you get it yourself.... and that might take months, till you may no longer remember who might have given it to you. I suppose you could always ask that person to take an STD clearance test. But even in the unlikely event you got that person to actually agree to it, it still might not protect you. That individual could get a negative result, and become infected a week later
You just have to make the best judgement you can of that person based on his or her known lifestyle. Be careful. It's a jungle out there.

The only sure way to know is to be tested. It depends what the STD is before or if you feel it. Some infections can lay dormant for a long time causing untold damage to your body without you even knowing. Everyone is different and every disease is different. Get tested.

You don't. You have them tested.

Incubation period is relative to the STD. Some take weeks, some take months, some can take years.

Not all STDs have visible signs - HPV for instance rarely affects men but causes cervical cancer in women (which you would not 'feel', but your doctor would discover during an annual check up - if left untreated it can continue to spread to the extent of being fatal).

HIV can take months to turn up positive on a test. There is a waiting period on most STDs before you'll get a positive result.

Common symptoms as quoted:
Itching around the vagina and/or discharge from the vagina for women
Discharge from the penis for men
Pain during sex, when urinating and/or in the pelvic area
Sore throats in people who have oral sex
Pain in the anus for people who have anal sex
Chancre sores (painless red sores) on the genital area, anus, tongue and/or throat
A scaly rash on the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet
Dark urine, loose, light-colored stools, and yellow eyes and skin
Small blisters that turn into scabs on the genital area
Swollen glands, fever and body aches
Unusual infections, unexplained fatigue, night sweats and weight loss
Soft, flesh-colored warts around the genital area

Again, remember that not all STDs have visible signs. This is why annual check ups are important.

If you are worried about having an STD don't wait around hoping to see if any symptoms appear!! GET TESTED!! Its the only sure safe way. Some STD's have symptoms others don't.

Many STDs do not have symptoms; in other words, the person may have it and not even know it unless they've been tested. Testing is the only way to be sure.

some STD's have noticable symptoms, some do not..
The only way to know for sure is if you are tested regularly.

Best bet, find one partner, both get tested, and keep it exclusive..no sex with anyone else!!!

if you must have multiple partners, always use latex condoms, REGARDLESS of what they say..... sometimes Excuses Equal A Silent Death Sentance..

You can never be too carefull
