Cool question...I just ate and I'm hungry again. I'd go with menu #1 for sure. I make curry all the time (as a matter of fact I'm preparing a coriander/almond chicken curry this weekend) and as I plan to enjoy a local 'santa day' on Saturday when the guests are here, I plan to prepare the curry, reserving the cream which finishes it off, on Friday morning. Curries seem to taste better after having sat overnight in the fridge anyway. Preparing your curry the day before will free up your time to spend with your guests on Saturday. I'm guessing you'll be marinating your prawns for a bit of time so you can do that in advance again. (reserving marinade for last minute basting) Dessert is perfect. I might suggest having a light sorbet or frozen yogurt with the fruit only because it'd be a bit lighter. Bon Appetit! I'll bet you're an awesome cook. :-)

Number 1 but leave out the chilli on the prawns otherwise you will have too much spice in the whole menu..I am a chef by the way and used to have my own restaurant cooking similar food :-) Instead of the ice cream with the fruit saled why not try creme freche with a little saffron in it.

They both sound like delicious menus. I'd go for the second menu because the dessert is more indulgent and not the sort of thing people make for themselves very often so you guest will feel they are getting more of a treat - not that I'm dissing yer fruit salad - I'm sure that's lovely too but home made profiteroles - yumma!

2. Deep fried breaded jalapeno peppers stuffed with cream
cheese served with a sweet chilli dip,
Fillet steak served with a deep red wine and shallot sauce
Onion rings, mushrooms, jacket wedges and garden salad
Followed by toffee and chocolate drenched profiteroles filled with
whipped fresh cream?
Everything is homemade

The first menu sounds simpler to create and easier to serve (less likely to go wrong and more time to spend with your guests). I would be wary of having chili in the first course followed by spice in the second course though. And some naan bread always goes down well with a curry.

Depends on where you live. If it's here in the cold Northeast, the steak menu will warm things up. If you're in a Southern climate go for the tropical flair. Both sounds incredible!

menu 2 has too many different flavours after the starter your taste buds will be shot and you wouldnt be able to taste the main course in menu one change the sweet to lemon syllabub its nice and light and it would cleanse the pallete after the range of flavours of the other 2 courses your menus sound nice but menu 2 is a bit heavy take out the starter and replace it gravadlax with a dill marie rose.gravadlax is cured salmon similar to smoked salmon but with a really distinguished flavour...try it with a nice salad of mixed leaves with some croutons and pine kernals for a bit of crunch in the dish....drizzle the salad with a lime vinegarette its a nice refreshing starter

Depends how well you know your guests, not everyone likes curry?? or prawns? whereas the beef is probably a safer option. Either sound lovely!!!! if you know your guests well I'd go with the menu you feel most comfortable with! good luck !
