It's probably not a good idea to ask that on here even though the site is religion and spirituality, It has been hijacked by fundamentalist christians who are unable to see any point of view but their own. They will criticise you and Islam in the strongest terms but not answer your question or tell you why they are against Islam.
They are fools and, as such, should keep their opinions to themselves.

I know why your avatar is sad: you haven't been introduced to God. I know quite a bit about Islam, because I'm Arabic and grew up in a sorta Islamic country. But let me personaly introduce you: God is the most kindhearted person EVER and I'm sure many would agree with me. Please, for my sake and God's but really mostly yours, please pick up a bible sometime and read some verses. I admit, some chapters are confusing, and can make you a bitdrowsy, on the other hand, most are exciting and words of wisdom, unlike the command-like stuff in the Koran and Islam. Here are some verses I recommend, and please take the time to read them. It's not like you're gonna die and be thrown into jail if you do. Trust me, it really opens up your heart. I know. I've been through the transformation:
psalm 91:11
psalm 32:5
hebrews 10:17
genesis 28:15
numbers 24:19
All these verses are wonderful, and I really recommend Teen study bible. Yah, so again, I'm not trying to like push u too hard, just do urself a favor and read a few verses.

Dr. Annis Shorrosh. He wrote several books, a good one is "Islam Revealed". He also wrote "The Liberated Palestinian". You can check these books out at any public library. if they don't have them , they will get them for you at no charge. He was born in Palestine and has 2 doctorates in religion. He is an expert on Islam and Christianity

Dear Islam is a very big meaning can't be said by few lines but enough to know that Islam takes people from darkness to light from worshipping "people" & men like them to worshiping Allah the lord of the univers he teaches us mercy, honesty, patience & complete submition to God. however it takes care of our human nature & don't ask us to be "angels" like other relegions that call for super spirtuality & their ppl is taking it in some places & leaving it in another, no Islam is a life style & a way of living
I converted from Judism to catholic then to protstant & then fianly to Islam relegion of hearts & minds

Islam is a peaceful,loving and tolerant religion and yes we respect all faiths.The Holy Quran is the book to read if you would like to get to know Islam.The usual guys and gals on yahoo Q and A don't seem to be around they could have given you great websites god forgive me i am going to give you one i have remembered www.islamonline.com
