And said I tested positive for chlamydia from the pap done last week. On top of that today is my 22nd birthday...Happy Birthday..smh.
I've had the same partner since July, and we used condoms 100% of the time.
I told him, and he said he doesn't have it because when he got checked for football and track, he didn't have anything.
I know condoms arent 100% effective, but if he is saying he doesn't have it....then is someone lying here or could there be a mistake in the test results??

The last time I had unprotected sex was with my ex....and that was in April. We both were tested and we didnt have anything. Ever since then I've used condoms. I am just trying to figure out how in the world I got this.

I haven't had sex for 2 months now, and will not have sex with him ever again. He didnt even act surprised, he just said how do you know you got it from me? He figures because he got a freakin physical, that he is good. Well he can be good by his damn self. The whole purpose of me using condoms all the time was to protect myself from these situations...I think I am about to practice adstinence for a looonngg time.

You could have gotten it from a previous partner or he is lying or didn't get tested for Chlamydia.

They check guys for heart, lungs, general health things when checking for sports, not sexually trnasmitted diseases (STDs)! It would cost too much, open up things the school wouldn't want to deal with, and guys can play sports just fine if they are infected. So, if he hasn't gone to the clinic or his doctor, and had a test for it, he doesn't know if he has it. Guys can go for years and usually don't have any signs that they have this one.Eventually they will have a messy infection. It isn't uncommon for them to think they are OK if they don't have symptoms. Also, he can be infected from a former contact some time ago, and has been carrying it since then. Yes, he could be lying. Maybe he has been with someone else.He wouldn't be the first one to do that. But, it is possible that this comes from before you and he started dating. Also the bacteria could have been hiding in you since you were with someone else before this relationship. He should get tested fot this. Go to a clinic. Make sure he tells them what your test results were. If you both have it, get treated (no sex until both are treated and have a test again after rteatment if told to), and go on from there. Who knows where it came from if you both have it. If you are the only one infected, it could have be lingering within you from before. In any relationship, however, one needs to be able to trust their partner not to bring diseases to them. This is something to think about. And you must both think about the chance that either one of you, or both, may have some other STD as well. Or, that careless behavior by either one of you with someone outside the relationship may bring something new.It is important for you both to be honest with the clinic personnel and each other, get any other tests they recommend, and recognize that this is 2006. and there are good reasons to be careful and faithful. Good luck.

Ummmmmm since when to foot ball and track exams include testing for chlamydia????????????????

If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I will sell you.

Now if you used condoms 100% of the time, was there any genital contact before intercourse? That might have been the opportunity.

Ruling that out, it would have been an earlier partner.

Not sure what's going on here but just my 2 cents...

Most guys don't actually know if they have been checked or not checked for STD's. They figure they go to the doctor, they've been checked. They don't know that they have to actually tell the doctor to check for STD's, and that the doctor will actually tell them they don't have this or that.

Seriously, most guy doctor visits go like this...

Him: So Doc, everything okay?
Doc: Looks like it!

Notice, no "Hey doctor, did I test positive or negative for any STD's?"

Since we women go every year, we are much more aware of how it works.

Regardless, he should go to his doctor and tell him/her that you tested positive and that he needs to be tested for chlamydia.

And don't freak out. You'll take the antibiotics and it will go away. And the best way to know if you or someone else has actually been tested for a particular STD, the bill. Each test is listed separately so you know exactly what the doctor tested for.

Yea I never got tested for STD's from an athletic exam. However it almost sounds plausible to be tested for aids since people are scared of blood from sports contact accidentally infecting people. Almost...

The good news is Chlamydia is curable. So go to the Doc and get the medicine for it. And stay away from that guy. Good for you.

You could have had it for a long time.A friend of mine had chlamydia for over a year and just past it off as stomach pain.Talk to you doctor about it.Your boyfriend isn't the one who gave it to you if you used condoms 100% of the time.

I have reason to believe your b/f is lying because men are not tested when having a physical only if they are having that special problem.

even if you use condoms its not protective to chlamydia because it can be transmitted through oral sex, your boy friend might had it for months before he met you,and he doesn't know because it can be Asymptomatic.... I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT STOP LOOKING FOR THE SOURCE OF THIS INFECTION AND LET IT BE A LESSON FOR YOU BOTH TO BE CAREFULL, YOUR BOYFRIEND MUST BE TREATED AS WELL .....AND CHECK FOR OTHER STDS

I have to add that they don't test for the clap in even normal physicals let alone football

Don't you think you could have had it all this time from your ex?
Maybe you are the one who should be apologizing (agreeing with babyj)
