The BEST treatment for Diabetic Neuropathy is longer term blood sugar control. Nerves take a LONG time to heal, and also a long time to die. Because you have neuropathy, this indicates that you have had high blood sugars for a LONG time. It will take a long time for the nerves to heal, so you must maintain NORMAL blood sugars for MONTHS -- but then again, that IS the goal of diabetes treatment! In other words -- follow doctors orders, keep your blood sugars under control, and the neuropathywill go away eventually IN THE MEAN TIME, try Capsacin Creme. This is available without a prescription at drugstores and pharmacies. It usually comes in the form of a topical creme -- you just rub it on. Capsacin is the substance that makes jalapenos hot, but when concentrated and rubbed into the skin, it deadens the nerves and eases the pain of neuropathy.

you should see your doctor and tell him/her about the pain. I have a neighbor who has bad neuropathy and they give her pills to help alleviate some of the pain, although it doesn't work very well because she also has Periphial Vasucular Disease (P.A.D.) on top of the neuropathy.
