first you need to chill out a little bit. goal fasting glucose is <120, goal glucose 2 hours after eating is <160. glucose levels go up and down constantly in the body. glucose is needed in all cells as an energy source to function properly. insulin is what helps get glucose into the cells. diabetics either don't produce insulin well or their body doesn't respond to the insulin well. 131 is not high, 77 is not low (unless you had signs of low glucose like chills, sweating, confusion, anxiety, etc). normally too low of glucose is defined as <60 or any level with symptoms of low glucose. diabetes is not defined until you get consitantly elevate blood glucose levels. talk with your doctor, have him decide. but a 131 level is not anything to worry about. and also, even diabetics have to have some form of glucose for their cells to function properly. to completly cut out carbohydrates is a bad idea. carbohydrates are broken down into glucose for the body to use as energy.

You need to take your reading first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything. If the reading is 100-125, it means you are glusoce impaired. If the reading is 126 or higher, it means you are diabetic. Generally, 131 is not a very high number at all or cause for major concern. You should get some more exercise and your levels will probably drop to less than 100 first thing in the morning every time. Since you had a reading of 131, you might want to take the morning level once a week for a few months, until you see things stabilize at a good number.

Im not sure, you may be on your way... sounds like your body is having a hard time regulating the sugar though.. 77 is not good, you can start feeling goofy around 60-70, 131 isnt all that bad though after a meal. I would go to your physician and have a glucose tolerance test done, and express your concerns about having diabetes. You dont want to screw around with this.. if you dont treat it, and keep it under control, it will progressively destroy your bod from the inside out.. my father was a diabetic, and it runs on both sides of my family. Im not sure about the genetics involved here, as you said that niether side of you fam has it... i would not go by that though get a test done soon.

Those are not signs that you are a diabetic. Most peoples levels go up and down their body regulates it by the insulin your body produces. Signs that you may have some sugar problems are having to go to the bathroom constantly, being tired all the time, to the point of falling asleep during the day, mood swings, constant thirst. If you have any of these signs see a dr, they will check your blood and know better with the test result. Type II diabetes is stated to not be heriditary which doesn't mean that because your parents don't you won't, but I have seen many families where several people have diabetes, so I don't think the statistics are clear on Type II.

lots of things can spark a high glucose result. stress can affect the way your body normally breaks down sugars in your food. from personal experience, my sister is a diabetic, found out in March 2006. She was working 3rd shift, on 3 different committees at her church, trying to be a good wife and stressing BIG TIME. her levels are in the 700s and she was damn near blind. her diet hasnt changed TOO much since then, but the following week her levels are basically normal (around 100 and lower). so, wait for the 2nd test and see what the results are. You may be worried for nothing (dont need the added stress....gonna make the levels peak again).

131 is not a bad glucose for after a meal. My daughter has diabetes and after she eats her glucose could be 200-500 (without her insuln) I doubt you have diaebetes If you are concernd you should talk to your doctor though. A normal glucose level is betweeen 70 and 140 for an adult. For kids it is different like my daughter we want to keep hers between 100-200.(but she is only 3) But if you have any doubts about yours ou need to get tested by a doctor, diabetes is a serious disease and you need to be treated if you do have it whichI personally don't think you do. Good luck!

No your not sounds pretty good to me I wish I count run 131 after eating I usually run over 300 1hour after eating, but if your still worried about it see your Dr. again and tell him to do an A1c to satisfy your mind. I've been a diabetic for 33 years and my daughter has been a Type 1 for 7 years.

A few blood test numbers are not enough to dx you.You need to see an Endo and have a full work up.
77 is a good non diabetic number. 131 is a bit high.
Talk to your doctor.
Good luck
