I was born diabetic. I've been through most of the major complications that diabetics go through, blindness, neuropathy, commas from high and low glucose levels, kidney failure and kidney/pancreas transplant. If you have a high glucose level, the only thing you should be putting in your body is insulin! Even water has a negative impact. As most of us with diabetes, you probably have high blood pressure. Consuming water increases the amount of water being retained in your entire system, hence water retention, causing your heart and kidneys to much harder than normal under all ready difficult conditions. Don't give high blood sugar levels anything to feed on. go exercise and get your mind off eating.

You have asked what to eat if u have high sugar. and so my answer is that you can eat any thing which does not contain sugar directly and indirectly. Better consult a diabetician , he will tell what to eat ,when to eat and in what quantities.

avoid carbs as much as possible they increase your blood sugar, try eating lean meats lots of veggies green veggies actually help to lower your sugar as well, on the other hand fruits have alot of natural sugar in them and can increase them. if you love fruit and fruit juices though eat the natural stuff and avoid the fruit juice

eat more of monosachharides like fruits specially apples, oranges, papayas, melons and avoid more sugary fruits like mangoes, chikoos and bananas.

Eat lesser polysachharides or starchy foods like breads, candies, sweets, cakes, chocolates and aerated drinks, even too much rice and potatoes.

Eat chapatis made of atleast 50% besan or corn flour (makki) or bajra. concentrate more on pulses and veggies like green vegetables.

try to take in more healthy drinks like fresh orange juice, lemonade and chahch / plain lassi. Avoid adding sugar and too much salt.

Aslo avoid fried foods like paranthas, pakodas, and fries burgers etc. pizzaz are ok in moderation!

For that matter south indian food is much better contains a lot of nutrition and is less fatty.
