A vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat foods that are from animal flesh. Many also do not wear furs or leather because they also come from slaughtering animals. Some vegetarians are called vegan and don't eat any animal products (dairy, eggs, honey).
Vegetarianism helps the environment because it takes a lot more plants to feed the animals for humans to eat than it takes to just feed humans eating plants directly and because animals being raised for food pollute the environment with feces. Pig farm, anyone?
Vegetarianism done sensibly helps the vegetarians as well, through better health. Vegetarians are less likely to be obese or suffer from heart disease, because generally meat is fattier than vegetables. Also, food animals are pumped up with antibiotics and hormones, which may harm people who consume them. (note: sensible vegetarianism... that means not replacing meat with potato chips and junk food, but beans, lentils and stuff like that)

A vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat meat, as we all know.
Another type of vegetarian is a vegan, who doesn't eat anything from animals, like eggs, maybe dairy, etc.
They don't wear animal products, most are against animal testing, and animal torture.
You should be a vegetarian if you want to be. If it's important to you to choose not to harm animals because you just feel better or think it's right or some don't eat meat because of their religious beliefs, then you should be a vegetarian. You shouldn't just be a vegetarian to fit in with a crowd or try to be righteous and different from people. You should just because you feel it's right, not because someone else is. Also, some people do it just to overall be healthier, although you'd have to take some type of supplement to get certain minerals. It's definitely not for everyone, like me, I grew up loving meat and I still do. I mean, I just think it's fine to use it as a part of survival, such as food, but if it's made for decoration or even clothing then I just find it gross and unnecessary. It's not important to everyone, like me, it's really not a huge deal to me, for reasons which I have stated above. But, again, it's important to some people and that's all that really matters. It's more of just a personal choice. I actually don't know if it's the best thing for the world, because we've got PETA over here who seem to be willing to harm a lot of people mentally and physically to get their point across. (FYI: PETA is an organization that is against animal cruelty. Perfect example of irony) And it causes a lot of arguments and it can cause hurt to one another just because it hurts to have your opinion crushed verbally. Also another negative impact it can have is that if we stop killing animals then we could seriously screw up the food chain and there might be more animals and therefor could possibly lead to an overpopulation and there might not be enough food or something serious like that. Or it could do the opposite and be positive, since some animal droppings are fertilizer and whatnot, so there might be more natural foods and plants, the possiblities are endless.
And the most important thing you should know is that us omnivores just love taunting these crazy vegetarians.

A vegetarian doesn't eat meat or only eats certain meats (Some eat fish.). Vegans don't eat any animal products, including milk and eggs. There are some foods that aren't meat but should be avoided by vegetarians, such as gelatin.
People can choose to be a vegetarian for many reasons, including ethics, environmentalism, and health. People who are vegetarians/vegans for ethical reasons believe that animals have feelings just like humans and shouldn't be killed for food. Some believe that raising crops is more efficient and environmentally friendly than raising farm animals for food, and they are vegetarians/vegans for environmental reasons. Other people don't eat meat because of the health benefits. Some religions also claim that eating meat is wrong, which can go along with ethics.

You dont have to be a vegetarian when you dont want to be on. The choice is yours. I dont eat meat simply because my family doesnt cook a lot of meat so i didnt ate it for a while. When i started eating the taste just went.. It was crazy. But anyways, it is good for the environment and there will be enough food for everyone and enough energy if everyone was vegetarian. It is scientifically proven.

A vegetarian is someone that does not eat meat (including fish). There is a variation called vegan - they do not any animal by-products, including dairy, eggs, honey, lard, etc.
People become vegetarians and vegan for different reasons including:
-it's a healthier, lowfat lifestyle (plus hormone-free)
-in protest to the way animals are slaughtered
-religious reasons
-they don't like the taste of meat
