Well ... ah ... in a word, "No." The nation is in deep do-do, and we do have serious enemies out there (some of whom we are funding). This draft talk may just be to get people riled up so they show their displeasure to the Bush war, however. We are in a very odd era where power has been used, and misused at the same time.

First, the draft is going no where. It would be political suicide for all who voted on it if it were ever presented as a bill.
Secondly, I can agree with Mr. Rangle to a point. I never met the rich son of anybody when I was in the Navy, having been drafted. One of Rangle's chief points is to put the children of the rich at the same place the children of the poor are.
If you want to march down the streets and just say NO, you should do it.

Why dont you just go with the flow, or join before they start it. You should be thankful for your freedom, and now your country needs your help, and you want to argue about it now? Remember there are people now and from the past that have died and are dying now for your freedom to say and do those things. I say get over it. I have been in the military for almost 10 years, and i think it would be good for alot of younger kids to get involved with their country. Quit crying and grow up. (ps) i hope to see you in Iraq. I have been there and done that several times

The question of a draft comes up every few years. I don't quite know what comes into bringing it back, but I'm sure some very nice letters written to our senators, explaining that they will be ousted from government for reinstating it should fix the problem. I don't think it will come to public demonstrations, but if it does, then I'm all for it.

No call your congress person and tell him how much a mistake it is if you disagree. I doubt Bush would let it go past him without a veto threat or two. I think it's a dead issue personally another attempt at class division by the Democrats. Aka why don't rich people kids die in IRAQ and all that other nonsense.

If you weren't marching in the streets (and voting!) to say NO to a war based on lies, then it's too late. That's where you should have taken your stand.

hell no we wont go!! lol
well you backed your goverment at every war which is...ok. so they made many enemy's...bombing people doesnt make you friends after all. but now that you might need to fight all of these people you need to draft cause not that many people are signing up these days. so its ok to bomb them as you watch it on CNN but once the idea of you actually getting you hands dirty appears you want to say no.
they have a word for this.....
