What is I.P.S.? In most places, a person has to have at least a high school education, have a fairly good driving record, no criminal history, and good credit [police departments don't like to hire people with bad credit]. In some agencies, college is a plus when it comes to promotions within the ranks.

not sure what IPS is, but in general, a police officer should be honest and trustworthy, with good verbal and written communication skills. in general they should be "above reproach".
