ok hun I feel your pain!! First off, how long have you been going to the gym and how much fat, carbs and overall cals do you have everyday on average. You loose weight from all over the body at the EXACT same rate, but you will see weight lose on your shoulders, calves ect. much quicker because they have less fat in the first place. While there is no exercise that will make you lose fat from your hips, there are exercises that will tone the muscle underneath the fat and this will help first to give the appearance of losing fat from the area but secondly the muscle will very slowly burn the fat on top of it.
The exercise I use and it worked wonders for me is leg lifts. You lie on you side and raise your leg so that your foot is parallel with you hip bone. Consider this your base position. From base position, slowly raise your leg up as high as you can and lower back to base position. Do this 40 times on each side and you will very quickly see results.
BTW is you do this exercise correctly, you should find it very dificult to reach 40 reps and you should be in agony!!! Very important to not lower you leg further than base position and to do it slowly and as often as you legs will let you!! Hope this helps!!

You may do this exercise already, but I'll mention it just in case you don't - I find it helpful for toning the hips. Lie on the floor on your side, and raise your whole leg straight up as high as you can without straining. Repeat perhaps 10 times at first - you can work up to a higher number. Repeat on other side. I also like ballet type leg raising movements - to front, back, and sides. I hope this helps.

In your gym there should be a piece of equiptment that you can do your hips on.
You sit on it and there are pads to press your knees against, once you have selected your weight you then push out on the pads as if you are opening your legs. This is really good for you hips.

Watching your diet is probably the number one thing, your body obviously stores fat there (mine too) so a low fat diet will help. I also find that walking and swimming have helped my hips much more than the gym.
But you should be able to ask a trainer at the gym to have a look at your workout schedule and maybe change it around to focus on that area instead.

Toning involves tightening the underlying musculature. That does nothing for the superimposed layer of fat. To thin the hips, you would need an appropriate diet in conjunction with cardiovascular exercise. It is impossible to target "fat-burning," for fat allocation is determined by genetics.

There are some parts of the body that will never respond to exercise. If that's the case with you, you can always consider liposuction. I know it's "cheating" and any surgery is a risk, but the results would solve this ongoing problem you're having.

It depends on your body type: Some women will never remove those areas by themselves and resort to lipo-suction.
The best way is to go Cardiovascular with your body.
Look at runners.. do they have what you have where you have it?
No? okay then!.... go Cardiovascular
Start easy and gradually increase. If you go too fast you will injure yourself.
Invest in Running Shoes and run
Trust me on this one, do the research, look at them closely...
You have to go "Cardiovascular" for those hips or to the Lipo-Doctor. Your choice luv.
