CBOOTH, I left it at Holiday season because I know many here do not celebrate the Christian way....nor would I only want Christians to have things to be Thankful for. Being glad to be alive is a reasonable thing to be thankful for and does not require you to thank any particular Diety.

I most thankful for having the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones and that we live in such a place that we can enjoy our time in whatever manner we so choose.

I will be thankful that I don't celebrate the holidays. Christmas is a pagan holiday that dishonors God. If you would just take the time to do a little research, you will find that the early Christians did not celebrate Jesus' birth or anyone else's. True Christians stay away from Christmas, Easter and all other holidays that had their origins in the pagan past.

That I finally understand why my dad has to be in the nursing home these holidays while the rest of us are out celebrating. He chose to put his trust in the people who put him there. As the child he disrespects, I can't do much beyond witnessing his desperation every day. It is sad, but it is justice. And now I understand why God can't do much, either, for people who won't trust Him.

My happy marriage, for that I am so grateful, I work for it, but so does my hubby. We chose to get along. and work towards the same goals, It is working out really good, We do not have a combative relationship, that is so nice. PS, we are middle aged, and not delusional....LOL we know how it could be, and both appreciate one another.
I knew why you said "holidays", it was to include everyone, and was another reason I applaud you for your generosity
