I will be doing a 3 months trip around Europe from May next year. I want to venture to places that are a little off the beaten track but just as beautiful as the main tourist attractions. So if you have been to anywhere amazing, please let me know. Or if you know of any great websites that i could look at, let me know too.

Thanks

Go to Bohinj in Slovenia its a lovely place. We went there a couple of summers ago and it was touched by tourism but not vastly so and the culture of the people is still completely intact. We went there as a family of 5 and the accomodation we had was only booked for 2 because my parents are dumbasses. But the found us a place up in the mountains a little apartment onthe side of a traditional house. the women was a little old women with traditional clothes who went working every day and they were so nice to us. They gave us firewater ( schnapps type stuff ) when we left. It was truely an experinece i will never ever forget as it felt like we truely had reached a place where people weren;t acting for tourism but as themselves. My mum and dad went back packing later that year with their bikes and had no where to stay and went to a little hotel to whcih the women said they were closed as it was their nephews birthday but then my mum and dad got invited to the party. The people are truely fantastic but you need to learn slovenian, the young people in slovenia speak english but the older people dont and you interact with them quite a lot.

Another place we went to was in croatia qwe went up to the hills get away from the beaches and stayed in a nice little apartment where we met kids and teh locals same kind of lovely atmosphere.

Its important to just go up into the hills. Look online for places that are small apartments etc .

Try Poland, now just a cheap EasyJet flight away...
Visit the Jewish quarter of Cracow, where Schindler's List was filmed, and see Oscar Schindler's life-saving factory for yourself. Hardly anyone seems to visit and it is just a derelict building - not a proper museum or anything. Of course, there are also concentration camps just an hour or so away, too, which really bring home the horrors of the Nazi holocaust.

Try Albania, it's utterly beautiful, dirt cheap and has the craziest drivers in the world! Plus, it's hot and on the med, what more do you want? Try Durres, an hour down their version of the motorway from the capital Tirana. I had a great time!

I would recommend you south east switzerland (canton graubünden) there you will see amazing mountains just by driving around. There you could go to juf. It s the highest town in europe. the village is above the trees. people heat their houses up with "sheep ****" since they have no wood. the town is about 40min from chur direction italy. When you drive there you will pass 2 chasm (canyons) . i m sure you like it and it is something really special. promise !!
