It is a little known fact that the uk is the only place on the planet that Brussel Sprouts are grown and eaten. The people of these foggy isles are under the misaprehension that sprouts are a global phenomenen, when in fact they are the first genetically engineered plant and are consumed exclusively by the brits. They were developed by accident in WW2, as a spin off of Bio Warfare experiments at Porton Down. When found to be largely benign they were used to boost food stocks.
Sprouts are likely to be banned under the Koyoto II protocols, due to their greenhouse gas producing side effects
