He must have been on the freeway during rush hour and pulled off to some hotel with a narrow gate and discovered that he was in a bad neighborhood and wanted to get a room to stay safe from all the gangs and drug dealers.Oops.That was something that happened to me.

You are right about the first part, but Jesus is not God, and many people think that because it says the father, the son and the holy spirit, but the trinity is not a fact from the bible. If you study it, you will see how.

But as to his words, they are very inspiring. And wide is the road that leads to destruction, which includes Ephesians 4:4-6

Have a good Day!

Jesus was contrasting the restrictive the lifestyle of true servants of God with the those who did whatever they wanted to do. The ones on the broad road had no idea they were headed fo destruction. The relative few that were on the narrow road knew that maintaining their godly way of life would be difficult but if they they remained on that road, they would be rerwarded with everlasting life.

Jesus was referring to entering the kingdom of heaven and how hard it will be for people to enter. The Christian life is hard, and so few will actually enter the kingdom of heaven because man is caught by their own selfish desires instead of living for God.

There is another verse in the Bible that is similar, "It will be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for man to enter the kingdom of God."

God isn't going to let just anyone into heaven. There are so many people that think being a good person is enough but it's not. You have to live your life fully for Jesus.

I'm so happy that you find this inspiring. I hope you continue to seek answers and that you will be one of the few to enter the narrow gate.

It means.....that only a small number will make it to Heaven. There are so many people trying to change God's word to fit their immoral lifestyles and pretending that everything is ok when it isn't.

Alot of mislead people are going to wake up on the wrong side of the fence one day. People try to change the scriptures, but God's Word is eternal..never changes....even if man tries to change it and justify the changes. Sin is still sin.

God never said it would be easy for us down here. Actually, he said just the opposite. But for all those who remain true He will take home .

Hey Donkey, well, He described it that way because it's really hard to stay on the good path and that's why few find the narrow gate...it's very hard to be good!

Thus, with the wide gates of hell, people find it easily coz there are always temptations laid out in front of us and always pull us awya from the good path!

AMEN dude, Jesus is wonderful=)

Matthew 7:13,14 read in context speaks of:
- two gates to enter: wide gate & strait gate
- two ways to go: broad way & narrow way
- two kinds of people entering: many & few
- two leaders of the two ways: law & grace
- two results of law & grace: destruction & life

Sadly many Jesus fanatics, like yourself, being deceived as foretold, follow the law unto their own destruction; thinking they've taken the narrow way, which isn't life, but notably only "leadeth unto life", and only leadeth unto life by leave the principles(laws) and go on unto perfection (Mt 5:48; Heb 6:1): grace.

Furthermore the narrow way is not about partiality, but about Christ: the end of the law, the Saviour of the world (not some only); And about that God (light void of darkness) in Christ (the end of the law) reconciling the world (not alienating the world). Furthermore "there is no respect of persons with God" nor any partiality with Son of God. Even the Herodians knew that much.

Therefore it reasons you have been deceived, taken the broad way of MANY shall be deceived by many coming in Christ's name, and notably come to DECEIVE: Mt 24; Mk 13; Lk 21.

I speak to your shame (not your fame), and exhort you to re-think your way and the leader thereof before it leads you to destruction.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Many People even today, say, that, there are many roads that lead to God, so it doesn't matter what they do they will go to God! But those words there that Jesus spoke show that view to be wrong, and that most people today are choosing the wrong path because they are choosing the seemingly easy way of believing that all they have to do is accept Jesus into their hart But is that all that is required?(Mt7:22,23) shows that this is NOT enough as he said there:"Many will say to me in that day,Lord Lord did we not Prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?
And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of Lawlessness, is that not a strange thing to say to people who accept Jesus in their Life?No it is not, Jesus said that because they were not doing the right things that are required to be done by those who call themselves Christians but obviously by that Statement that Jesus made there and in the verses you quoted above, those Christians were not doing the things that are required for Christians to do even not really they did not take the time, and effort, to find out what they should be doing, Yes as Jesus showed by what you wrote above, there are not many roads that lead to the same God, but there are only two one leading to destruction and the other to life!so it is worth our while to find out how and what we should be doing to be on the right road and not be luled into a false sense of security promoted by satan, that all we have to do is accept Jesus into our hearts obviously doing that is not enough, according, to Jesus, himself as you can see

Well said, Donkey.....

The road to life, is difficult when searching for the Lord as he is life after this death. The way through to it, is narrow, and that gate is slim to those who find it, and few will enter that way.....

But, the other way is wide, that leads to destruction.

It is hard for many to accept Christ. Some will accept him and have erred all along.... these are faults which men have not repented.....

He said it because the kingdom of god on earth is a reflection of heaven's values and standards, and we are not to conform ourselves to the negative, materialistic values and standards of this world. It is hard and narrow because we are surrounded by worldly things that will pull us away from god. For most people, it is easier to conform, and give in, than to stand apart from others.
