If there is a history of heart problems in the family or if you are over weight, see a doctor.Yes you can get chest and back pains from this, but get checked out first before you do anything else.
Change your diet. Stop eating tomatoes and other foods high in acidity levels. Stop drinking carbonated beverages. Eat dairy products like yogurt, block cheese (not processed) and drink milk. Do not eat at least 3 hours before bed. Do relaxation exercises. Gavascon works well.

I have been recently diagnosed with acid reflex. But before I really knew what it was i was experiencing back pain, neck pain and chest pain. I have been to two emergency rooms thinking that I was having a heart attack. However each test came back normal. I would suggest for you to go to a doctor to be sure. But i think your problems can be associated with acid reflex. But , i am not a doctor. Check with your physician. Good luck.

Acid Reflux usually causes a feeling of burning in your esophogus, because the stomach acids are "refluxing" back up into your throat. I have this, it is very annoying, but have never had back pain, neck pain, or breast pain. I would suggest you go to the ER immediately because you are describing some symptoms of a heart attack. Dont trip out, just relax, call 911 or have someone take you, and have it checked out. You are probley just anxious and tense, but you still should go have it checked. Ok? Good luck.

Yes, it can hurt in your chest and back. The stomach acid travels up your oesophagus and burns it and so you feel pain. You should see a doctor and get it sorted as it can, over time, erode your esophageal lining as well as your stomach lining and cause ulcers to develop which could then lead to some more life threatening problems.
