I think it would be wonderful if you put together photos and a memory book of their life together, this would be a great tribute to her and some great memories for him! Don't think it will make him sad it want, he will be glad he has it and be grateful to for thinking of it!

Something that has real meaning for the both of you, like maybe something you made yourself. Right now, your father needs you more than ever, and I think he may just need YOU. Try to go home for Christmas. Decorate. Give each other gifts. And most importantly, try to grieve together. Sometimes when we lose someone close, we shut down and try to deal with it ourselves. Don't. If you've never needed each other before, now is DEFINITELY the time to bond. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Oh, I am so sorry. Bless your heart. But I know she is safe in heaven so try to give your Dad something more low key and personal this year. Maybe with just a little light touch. Think about his favorite snacks and maybe make up a "care package" of all the little treats he likes.

Get your dad something that could make him feel better. If you have brothers and sisters, make a party all together. Do something that could make him feel happy.
