England is a country on its own, whereas United KIngdom includes Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

England is only one country of the United Kingdom. The others are Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

oh christ, the UK originally consisted of the celts (wales, ireland and scotland), then people from all over europe came over and it developed England and the english language. It annoys me when people say this and people think of the UK as just being England.
