A young boy, 12, has cancer and dies. Why did God think to himself? Do you know what? Im a bit a bored today. Im going to kill this 12 year old. I think im going to kill this one, but not the others. I dont think he deserves a full shot at life. How many Sins can a 12 year old commit to warrant God killing him at such a young age?

And suddenly the whole fabric and lies that religion is based on comes tumbling down .......

Well!
Our GOD has said that every person has to taste death[every soul has to leave its body]....
& the life of every person[soul] is preplaned
when to born, when to die...
what accidents will happen to it, what good things will happen to it....
every thing...
DECIDED..
by GOD...
The place, date & time even the second, are all preplaned....

Every soul has his account of good deeds & bad deeds....
GOD has set the length on its life,....
whether it does not do any sins,it will leave its body....
sins have nothing to do with dieing....
[as life & death time are preplaned...]

God created the earth in all it's splendor. If you take this for a fact, then you have to look at what causes cancer to understand why it exists. There is a dietary guide in the bible which we are reccomended to follow (not jewish here, so it's not a requirement, but I do still follow it as much as possible). What we take into our bodies stays there, so all the pesticides, all the preservatives and chemicals stay in our bodies and increase over time. They all have different effects upon the body, ie. the most used preservative in foods is a hormone which promotes horn growth in bulls; what does this do to our bodies when we don't have horns? Other preservatives act as estrogen, which is why girls are growing breasts much earlier than ever before, and why penis size in countries that consume this chemical is shrinking (the United States predominately). Feed these chemicals to a small child...a twinkie a day can kill you when mixed with the preservatives in milk and juice and peanut butter and jelly and cereal and every other processed food. Because each child is unique, some children can rid themselves quicker of the chemicals than other children, those children with slower metabolisms suffer the effects more than those with higher.

Look at the enviroment. Power lines and chemical plants and unsanitary water...is the dirt at the playground safe or filled with chemicals like weed killers, fertilizer, etc.

God didn't create cancer. No loving God could ever concieve of it, but when we feed our children trash and let them play in death, then what do you think would happen?

It is more than time that we take responcibility for what we do as individuals, educate ourselves and those we love and act responcibly.

Not really. I knew two people who died tragically young from diseases:
One was Tianna. She died back in 2001 (great year, eh?) from a rare degenerative disease. Tianna was in constant pain from it, but she still had a smile for everyone. Any time she was wheeled into a room, she literally lit it up with a single smile.
She was twenty when she died.
Then there was David. I first met him when he was seven, and I was eleven. He died of Battens when he was sixteen. By the time I met him, he was already blind as a result of the disease.
And yet...David was...it's really hard to describe. But it's as though even that disease couldn't extinguish the light he had inside.
Both of those knew they were dying, and yet they left a mark on all those who knew them...we won't ever forget them.
So what's my point? My point is that I happen to realize that maybe it's better for THEM to be out of this world. Maybe they die young so they're still innocent, and they go straight to heaven.
Your problem is that your vision is narrow. If you expand it to include everyone in the world through history, and everyone who WILL live, and everyone who lives now, perhaps you'll see the purpose.
It isn't because they're sinful that they die. Perhaps it's because they're innocent. And perhaps their life will give MORE meaning to people when it's shortened, than it would if it was longer.
David and Tianna's lives were both short...and yet, they had meaning. I KNOW that both rest in Jesus's arms now.

A man dies at the age of 120, when he has the potential to live for 10,000 years, as clearly the brain was designed to live for. What is young, 12 or 120?

Whether he is a part of the second resurrection fully depends on the life choices made by the parents.

People mistakenly blame God for the evil in the world we are living in.The religious leaders are blame.Telling parents that God took their child to be an angel in heaven and other such rubbish.
God created the earth for man to reside in.He made our first parents,Adam and Eve perfect.Designed them to live forever and placed them in a beautiful paradise.Jehovah told them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth
As with all His intelligent creations,Jehovah gave the first man and woman the gift of free will.He did the same with the angels in heaven. The angel that became Satan(meaning resister) and Devil(meaning slanderer) misused his free will and as a result of his coveting the worship God received,he tricked Adam and Eve into disobedience. This rebellious act caused Adam and Eve to sin and as a result of sin, they lost their perfect health, began aging and eventually died.
As offspring of Adam and Eve,we all inherit sin and death.
It has nothing to do with God that a twelve year old child gets ill and dies.We have inherited imperfection.
This however, was not God's plan for mankind. He designed and wanted his human creation to live forever on a beautiful garden paradise called earth.
Because of His love for mankind,Jehovah allowed his only begotten Son,Jesus to come to earth as a perfect human and die as a propitiatory sacrfice so that anyone who exercises faith in him can have the opportunity to have their sins forgiven, and share in the hope of everlasting life that Jehovah promises for obedient mankind.
Jehovah will still accomplish his original purpose and all those asleep in death will be resurrected.
There is a wonderful hope for obedient mankind.
Why dont you go along to your local kingdom hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. They have a accurate and thorough understanding of the Scriptures and would be only too happy to conduct a free home bible study with you.To help you understand Bible truths and learn about our wonderful, kind and merciful Heavenly Father,Jehovah God.

Your question is one reason I began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. I, too could not fathom the idea of a loving God who would allow things to happen to a child that had happened to me. Why could He, if He was truly omnipotent, not stop my pain? Just like your question... why would a loving God 'take' or 'kill' an innocent child who had done no wrong?
My answer came from learning about the issue between God and Satan. God created mankind with love, in perfection, with the intention that no one would ever die. Not from cancer, or murder, or suicide. Then Satan came along and convinced Adam and Eve that God had lied to them and that they would NOT die if they chose for themselves as to what was right and wrong. HE was the liar. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they lost their perfection and so began to die. Like a pie pan that is dented and leaves marks in every pie it makes, so every human down from Adam and Eve had the dent of sin and death.
God is saddened by human failure to obey. The Bible speaks of mankinds inhumanity to man.. wars, brutality, torture, rape, murder, theft, disease, famine. God did NONE of this! These were never His intentions for the earth. This was a direct result of disobedience on man's part!!
Why does God not step in and stop it all? Well, God has PERFECT judgement, not human judgement. And He does not want one single person who would LIKE to have a relationship with Him to be destroyed. So He waits, and He gives mankind the time to realize on his own that humankind needs God's direction. If God changed things whenever you, or I think he should, then surely someone somewhere would say " I didn't have time to prove I could do it right!" and so the issue would still be up in the air. God has promised us that He will wipe every tear out of our eyes, and death and pain and outcry will be no more, that the former things will have passed away... I look forward to that time, knowing that all will be TRULY right then, not just mankinds idea of fixed!

The wages of sin is death. We live in a state of sin. An imperfect world. You don't have to be a Chrisitan to know that. Things happen we cannot explain, noone can explain. We can give you ideas but there is no real explanation for that. God is soverign and did whipe out the entirety of humanity save eight people and was thinking about doing it again but in his mercy he promised never to destroy man by flood again. His mercy is already more than we deserve. We all deserve death because we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). He has given us a way of salvation thru his son (John 3:16)(John 14:6) But he has required two things...to operate in faith and to accept or reject the Gospel message. I believe everyone has this opportunity. God's attributes are that he is Just, Righteous, Holy and the bible says Mercy triumps over Judgement. I know these to be facts so I have to say in my mind. Is what he is doing possibly merciful? We don't know. But I have to go on what I do know.

Some things we're just not meant to understand...sometimes we understand them eventually...but it's also important to realize that God doesn't call someone home to b/c they sin.

My personal belief - you may not agree: But I think that when God takes a child, that child was a gift to us here on earth and had finished what they were sent to this to do. I also think that children who pass away are more perfect than we could ever imagine in the eyes of the Lord. Theres actually a poem that I read a long time ago when a friend of mine was killed in a car accident at 17...I had a hard time dealing with it, and I don't want to say anything made it better, but this poem gave me a little more sense of peace, and hey I think every bit helps! I hope I did...

I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine." He said.
"For you to love him while in life
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years
Or twenty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want the child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over
In my search for teacher's true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you;
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labour vain
Nor hate Me when I come to call
And take him back again?

I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, They will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
For the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand."

This reminds me of a story I once heard.

There was a mother and her young daughter became extremely ill and the doctors all said she was most likely going to die. The mother did not want to lose her daughter and so prayed to God fervently and even resorted to things like kneeling on the ground and "walking" (on her knees) to the altar while praying that her daughter would become well again.

And the daughter did get well and lived on. However, her life was one of sin and she died when she was about 20. Her mother was sorrowful, sure that her daughter would be going to hell for the life she lived. If she had died back when she had an illness when she was young, then it was assured that she would have gone to heaven being still innocent.

And so you can't really question the things that happen for apparently no reason because the reason may be uncomprehensible to us.

Maybe when you die as an old person after living a life as you pleased, and stand before God on judgement day and say, God I didn't have enough time to learn about you. God can point to those young children and say, they only lived a short time, but you had all your life.
