My phobia is needles. There's no cure and they are not ridiculous. When I go to the doctor and have to get shots or give blood, I cry hysterically. I've been known to pass out, and hit people (especially when I was younger I normally have to have my arms tied down or have people hold me down.) I'm 26 now, I can control everything else but I still can't help but cry like a baby every time.

Phobias may sound ridiculous, but in fact they are not. They can affect a person's personal and social life. My phobia is agoraphobia, I can't stand crowds of people. I never go to concerts. The funniest phobia? I don't know...how did you get yours? Was it when you saw the "It" movie by Stephen King? Phobias can be cured with psychotherapy. Seek professional help if it messes with your life.

My boyfriend has a Phobia of worms. He really freaks out when he sees one. When we first got together I thought he was joking and I laughed at him. But I found out it was a genuine phobia. He isn't acting. I don't think my boyfriends phobia can be cured. I was going to buy him a worm farm and see if that helped but he said he would dump me if I bought one!!

I have a phobia of wasps and bees. I'm not allergic, but if one comes anywhere near me, I run a mile. I was on a ladder on the aircraft in my avatar once, wearing a yellow Hi Viz vest. One buzzed around me. I jumped off the ladder and almost hit my head on the drop (fuel) tank!

I think you can be cured, but it's facing your fear. It's very difficult to do!

phobias are not ridiculous to the ppl who have them. and they can be cured by desensitization therapy. i've heard of a lot of ppl being afraid of clowns, so you're not alone.

i've heard of ppl being scared to death of things like tin-foil, olives, pickles, hard-boiled eggs, plastic-wrap...things that can't actually get up and chase you...i don't really understand those phobias, but i'm sure there's some kind of issue that causes ppl to be scared of inanimate objects.
