Right here. Did it this week, have done it for years.
Get the person sitting with good posture in a comfortable chair. Have them look at a spot just above eye level. This tires the eyes and makes them drowsy.
Tell them to slow their breathing down, to breathe deeply from the diaphram, just below the belly.
If the person is tense, go through each muscle group separately, and have them tense them for ten seconds, and then relax them.
Speak in a monotone. Assure them that stray noises will happen and need not interrupt things. Ask them to concentrate on your voice. Be soothing and reassuring. Everthing is fine. You feel wonderful.
Breathe deeply and slowly.
Begin to create a pleasant picture of a relaxing scene: A brook running through a meadow, a beach scene, the sun is warm, light breeze, drowsy, pleasant, etc.
Breathe deeply and slowly.
The patter should be monotonous and cyclic. No surprises. Emphasize good feeling. Never felt better.
You may use a count, with patter between each count, from ten to one: at one the subject will be extremely relaxed. The word "hypnosis" is distracting.
Say "relaxed." It's true!
While relaxed the subject should be told that even upon waking the feelings of well being will continue.
You may suggest that each time they become hypnotised, it will be quicker and easier.
Leave curing bad habits or problems to professional therapists. Just suggest well being. If the person has problems sleeping, they may use this technique on themselves, as they will wake up normally and well rested.
When ready, count from one to ten, assuring the person with each count that they are well, but may open their eyes if they wish, and with each count are becoming more awake and aware, and at ten will feel well, but be ready to resume their affairs.
Ask the person how they feel. I have had nearly none that I could not induce a slight trance in, and none that didn't enjoy it, it is just repeated and guided suggestion.
Who doesn't want to be relaxed and well?
I repeat, do no therapy. Let the professionals do that.
Just help people relax, release tension, and feel well.
Okay?
There you are. It works for self hypnosis as well.

One of the best hypnotist is the avant garde illusionist extrodinaire, Alfred E Neuman. I belive that he is slightly MAD and I am not sure if he would hypnotise you without at least you offering him a big mac, double fries and a coke.

Look into the mirror and practice it on yourself. Just do it like how you see it on tv until you eventually fall asleep. Once you wake up in, say... 2021, you should get the hang of it naturally.
