Little Tommy Smith from Pinson Alabama. Right after the Civil War he picked some peanuts and put em in his mouth, followed closely by a slice of Grandma Myrtle Smiths homemede bread and homemade preserves. (peach i believe) And tarnation , consarn it tasted good. He quickly seized a slice of aformentioned bread preserves and then....Chewed up some peanuts and spit em on the bread.* Now you know.

*ok i dont know.

I always thought it was my mom, but I asked a friend, and he says HIS mom came up with it. He asked a friend and she said it was HER mom. So we all thought and thought and finally decided it was a mother commity that came up with the combo as a conspiracy to shut kids up when they were whining for something to eat.
