Your body is telling you that you need 9 hours of sleep in order to be rested. That's not an unusual amount for a young person. All you have to do is start getting used to going to bed 2 hours earlier. Start doing some exercise or sports during the day to tire yourself out, then go to bed at 9pm. It shouldn't take more than a week for the habit to stick.

you just had a complete 9 hour sleep (11pm-8am)...it is normal but you surely have a problem if you can't get yourself to wake up early. it is because you're used to having a complete sleep...my suggest to you is, you sleep around 8pm or 9pm or 10pm so that you can wake up by 6am..is having an alarm clock doesn't work on you?you could put 3 alarm clocks with 5 minute intervals so that your stimuli will respond to it. you could also drink milk at night so that you could easily sleep.help yourself whenever you wake up in the morning. tell yourself that you need to get up early or you'll be late (or something)..hope my advice will work...=D

It is hard to wake up earlier than you are used to...especially if you don't "have" to.
I'm told once you do something 7 times, it becomes a habit, so once you wake up that early 7 times in a row, it'll be easier for you. how I get myself up earlier is:
1. I set an alarm clock by my bed and another one to go off 5 minutes later across the room so I have to get up to turn it off. For me, getting out of bed is the hard part, once my feet hit the floor, I'm normally okay.
2. I set the clocks so many minutes early (an odd number so that I have a harder time doing the math in my head when I'm sleepy--like 14 minutes or 22 minutes), I know I've set the clock to be faster, but in trying to figure out the "real" time, my brain gets to working and I'm awake.
Silly tricks, but they work.

go to bed earlier, and then you will be able to get up earlier.
it may take a while to get into the routine, but i used to have to get up at 6am for college, so i went to sleep at about 10. set an alarm and put it far away from ur bed so you actually have to get up to turn it off!!!!

i agree with putting your alarm clock way across your room so that you have to get out of bed in order to turn it off. however, if you get into the habit of adding 10 more minutes, like i do, it could be trouble
