Keep it quiet and simple - she might not be up to it. Why not have a few good friends and family, and have a pamper night?

how bout just a small dinner party with close friends and family. He will probably not be in too much of a party mood right when he gets home so give him some time. he probably just wants to be with you for a while =] then get back into the swing of life at home

get all her best friends and relatives round some drinks n food her fave songs on the CD player and banner and decorations and make everyone hide then when she walks in everyone jump out and say surprise and have a great time....if she has come out of hossy after having a heart attack it may be good to let her know you are throwing a party....lol you don't want her being rushed back in.... I'm sure she will love having all the special people in her life there with her and showing her how much they care...i hope she loves it and you all have a wonderful night....good luck

she sure misses home and missing you at home too. You already have good idea for the party, but keep it comfortable for her. She may not want it to be too noisy, and not too much food. But one thing will certainly make her very happy and proud of you - tidy up the house (everywhere in the house) the way she has been keeping it over the years.Make that your best kept secret until she steps into the door and sees it for herself.Mom being mom, she may be wondering if the house is in a mess.

If i was coming out of hospital, I would want to see people that really cared about me, some good food and home comforts (slippers and dressing gown and my own bed!) but I would also be concerned that the people would leave and I could have peace and quiet and time to myself (all things you don't get in hospital, i.m.o)
