At present in Inida corrupt officials and politicians do not have any punishmen at all. they are obny happy and comfortable even when they are charged for corruption. In the case of Government servants , a corrupt officl, while under suspension pending diciplinary action is more comforable monetarily while under suspension than while in service . So to eliminate corruption , rwe should have more stringent punitive laws . The present trend is that a criminal is more comfortable than any ordinary law -abiding citizen and there are more number of organizations like the human rights commissions and other political and non-political oraniztions that take much efforts to potect the criminals and ensure their comforts and rights much more than those of the ordinary ciizens who are victims of the corrupt officials and politicians.No body is ashamed of being charged under any penal provison for any criminal act. On the contrray ,the criminals are happy that they get lot of publicity and support from some idiotic organizations .
The only way to end corruption is to elect some non- political judges directly by the people and to create a special independent judicial forum with powers to take and try cases against any public servant and Government servant . The abolition of poticial parties and the selection of law makers , all Ministers and Governors , the Prime mimnister and the President by lots. That is the safest and sure way of eliminating corruption and ensuring that a very large number of criminals do not secure nomination for election by political parties . Now under the present system the party bosses could nominate only the best ciminal as candidate for election to public offices and keep the posts of chief Ministers and prime minister etc for their own family and etablish their dynasties to the deteriment of public interst .In the years to come India would witness a situaiton where the posts of chief ministers and prime minister and oher ministers would be reserved for the families of the present day political bosses and that those posts would be adorned by the children of the present day poliical bosses and their concubines . The counry will become the private property of the present day political bosses soon.
The only surest way to elIinate corruption is to ABOLISH ALL POLITICAl .PARTIES .AND ELEC PEOPLE TOOFFICIES BY LOT .It is mpossible to elect all rogues or fools or dishones people by such a method whee as it is only possible to get corrupt and useless pesrsons alone nominated by he party bosses under the present system. In factissaid hahe party bosses nominate only those who pay the highest amount t them. Corruption starts there itself . his is how he politicians quickly get into the list of Billioners .

First we must accept the axiom that corruption is a two way street. Those that take and those that offer. Greed is a powerful Factor in corruption. The more it goes unpunished the more it is acceptable. Then you must consider the level at which the corruption occurs. At a lower level, such as minor government officials, i.e. governmemt clerks, police, even mail room clerks, the exchange for favors or information is common. Non-corruption contracts with employees would impose not only criminal consequences but also Civil liability. Doubling the consequences would make it less profitable to engage it such conduct. At a higher level corruption is difficult to detect. Both parties are smarter about how the corruption is processed. Corporate lawyers find so many angles to hide the appearance of corruption. Increased penalties and public trials would be one deterent. But, maybe if those caught in the corruption did hard time in hard prisons instead of Federal prison "Resorts" or "minimum security" facilities we would see less people willing to offer or take a bribe...

Much of the corruption in public life stems from the fact that campaigns are most frequently financed from private sources. Those who give a lot of money directly and especially indirectly to a candidate often intend to benefit from the contribution.

One of the best ways I have seen is in Singapore. The mayor makes 1million USD per year. He makes enough that they really can't touch him. Low pay (morals) typically attract corruption.

the old joke about Chelsea,Mass goes like this;
1st guy "Why would anybody want to be mayor of Chelsea? The pay is lousy."
2nd guy "Yeah, but the tips are great!"
(Remember to do it with a Boston accent)

make people involved in said system more accountable, make transactions more open, get the community involved, pay people more

A lot of curruption in the world occurs in poor countries were people accept bribes just to get by, feed their families

If you eliminate the need for curruption, the opportunity for it to take place, and make the consequences harsh, this will certaintly cause curruption to fall off remarkably.

In terms of eradiation, would never happen, where there is a will, there is a way, just try to create systems where the people will be found out.
