I have one at home. They are very effectionate animals that do love attention. They can be snappy so you have to watch them with kids. They definitely have a mind of their own and will only do something if it suits them. they need a lot of grooming because they do not shed hair. Their hair grows like ours and needs combing every day and regular cutting.

Obviously, you're gonna get a dozen different answers to this question. I had my little Yorkie girl for 15 yrs and still miss her badly. I would definitely recommend this breed, but be aware that they are terriers. They can be bossy and barky if not given enough attention and exercise. They also love to try to rule the household if not trained that they are not really the boss. If you are prepared to work with your dog and spend alot of quality time with it...go ahead. But if you are looking for an "easy" pet, don't get a dog at all. Now, my Yorkie barely barked at all, she did make all manner of noises, whining and crying and growling, but it was more like talking than barking. Personally, I loved it. She also would always rather be inside than outside, not much of a "rodent hunter" like some of the people above said. Also, yorkies can be delicate, especially the smaller ones-They get cold easily and can't jump from high places without injuring themselves. They are also prone to heart problems and digestive issues..Anyways, Please research thoroughly before you commit to owning a dog of any kind!

I have two Yorkies....they're the best in the whole world....they don't shed....but I agree with the other people on here, if you don't know about the breed then you shouldn't be getting one. Papers don't mean a whole lot unless you're going to show the dog or breed, but most yorkies are so small that it's dangerous to breed them if you don't have lots of experience....read up on the breed, they can be a lot to handle sometimes, they have lots of energy and love being the boss

take care of or rescue. Small breeds have continually been expensive. they have small litters and many times favor c-sections in view that small litters may bring about additional effective domestic dogs. And what i can trust is why someone might want to pay a million,000 or extra for a mutt. a million,000 for a nicely bred pup from a respected breeder is an funding and quite somewhat between the smallest quantity you'll ever pay fr your canines contained in the approach its existence time once you upload up three hundred and sixty 5 days vet nutrients, and grant expenditures. i am going to respond to something: How about you give up hawking your byb pets in the journey that they ever exist. in view that in case you really knew what you've been speaking about none f that bs you purely wrote might want to be there.

I have had them for years. They are true terriers. Yappy, sharp, stubborn, a bit dim, hard to train. They need lots of coat care to ensure they stay healthy and tangle free.I am a professional groomer so it isn't a problem for me. I recently took in an 8 year old female who's coat was full of tangles so she had to be shaved off. She also had dew claws on the back legs which had been allowed to grow right around into her legs. From this I surmised that she had never been to a proper groomer and the owners hadn't bothered to inspect her regularly. Papers are unimportant if you aren't going to show. B1tches weighing less than 5lbs should not be bred from as they will have difficulties and they only have small litters.
Surely you should have found out more about them before committing yourself to getting one? They are not little dollies to be dressed up and they are not delicate. All of my yorkies over the years have been keen rat killers.

They are very sweet. I have two guys myself. They are not the easiest to house train but don't give up. One is a barker and one is not. One is a couch potato and the other is not. Both consider themselves the leader of our pack and want us to act accordingly. They are just like my children, both individuals and I love them dearly.

His Mother won Crufts but he would be useless as he rolls over as soon as you look at him!
