you're in a 2-storey house. on the ground floor is a room with 3 light switches and on the 1rst floor is a lamp. THAT'S ALL there is in this house! and you cannot see ANYTHING in the 1rst floor from the ground floor. Which switch lights the 1rst floor light knowing that you can go up and back down to check ONLY ONCE ?

Turn on switch 1 and 2, wait a minute, turn off switch 2 and go up to check. If light is on - switch 1. If it's off but the bulb is warm - switch 2, otherwise switch 3.

Try each of the switched until the light in the room u are in goes off that only leaves 2 switches left....... then try 1 of the remaining switches go up and check if light is on or off..... go bk down if the light was on it was that switch if not it was the only remainin switch.

1. switch on number 1 and 3.
2. after 5 minutes turn off number 3 and go to 1st floor.
3. if the bulb is cold then number 2 is the switch.
4. if the bulb is hot and not lit then number number 3 is the switch.
5. if the bulb is hot and lit then number 1 is the switch.

um... none of them because it is a lamp not a light, so the switch for it wouldnt be on the ground floor, it would be with the lamp!
