Would you buy a car, without taking it for a test drive? I didn't think so!
Yes, living together can be a good thing - at least then you get to see all the little quirks that might irritate the shiit out of you, BEFORE the marriage (and then divorce!).

This kind of relationship has a little hope towards future. The reason? neither partner is bonded with the sacred bond of marriage which holds them together, so break up is frequent. In addition it strongly discourages family way of living and if a girl gets pregnent in the due course, then there's no guaranteed caretaker of the child, with of course abortion or orphanage being the horrible options. Even if the biological mother decides to take care of the child, still the poor thing (child) is deprived of father's love. The main root or cause of such relationships? LUST and nothing else.

It might be a good thing for the couple to live together before committing themselves to marriage. That way they can see what the other person is like in the home, and hopefully find out if the other person has a serious problem before marriage.
If it does not eventually lead to marriage, then what's the point?

No, because there is no charm in live-in relationship. There is a feeling of insecurity all the time. Also we boys get physically bored of a female very soon. If there is no social or legal comittment even a small dispute such as who should prepare tea - might lead to separation. But yes, we should know the person before deciding to marry. But sleeping together is not a way to understanding a person.

A lot of marriages are'nt long term these days, and most people that want to be married end up doing it a few times, living together is like a dummy run and makes getting married easier once the relationship has been well established.I think it's a good thing once you want children. That's what i did!

each to his own....there are a lot of people who still live more conventionally and even have sex through older ways ;) like back of the car etc.....but the main point here is that everyone has a write to choose the way they want to live with their partner and how much distance and committment they are ok with.
you will find your own equilibrium with your partner:)
take care,
Amit

i disapprove if the intention is not long term... i think people should live together only if they are engaged or have committed.
