If so can you tell me how? If not, where can I download a program which allows me to play songs backwards?

As far as I know, you can't play song files backwards with Windows Media Player. You can with Audacity however, download it here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

After you've installed it, open the program, import the song you want to hear, then in the file menu, select edit, then select all, then select effects and select reverse, hope this helps.

Audacity works with Ogg Vorbis, MP3, and WAV sound files.

If you want to play .wav songs backwards, use the Windows supplied Sound Recorder. Click "Effects" then click "Reverse".

It's the most basic program but it's free and already on your pc (if you're a Windows user, that is.)
