Experiencing this right now. Friend of mine not telling me the truth about something that I know. Even though he has tried to hide it from me. Doesn't reliaze that I can handle this truth even though I disagree with his desision in this personal matter. Knows what I feel about the girl he is dating (maybe engaged to).

What ARE you to him? A friend? A Sister? A Mother?
Most guys tend to keep things away ONLY from people they value. Sometimes, it is for a a period, just until the circumstances are relatively easier to divulge the information, or till the severity has passed.
Either way, you sould just understand that the person feels a little strongly about it; and will like to keep your familiarity with the subject at bay, till when its appropriate. You should respect that, even if it means that you PRETEND you don't know. He will respect you for it (later) if you make him understand that you know about it, but still didn't bug him till when he's comfortable to let you know.
If, however, you feel it is at his, your or the friendship's detriment, you may want to send a subtle warning. If he asks, you can try discussing the issue. If not, then you may JUST have to let it be, stay away until he wants you involved.

Let him play in his way and make up your mind the way you like, instead of turning past to the book.
