Probably ignorance. The same ignorance as people who come on here using stupid abbreviations because all they know is how to send a text message rather than compose an intelligible thought that's punctuated correctly.
Or maybe they just want to share a joke, not take the world too seriously, spread a few (ironic) smiles - or maybe that didn't occur to you. Which do you think?

Good question! I have asked similar ?s in the past. I think some people want to be involved in this forum so badly that they will make foolish comments and make-up idiotic questions just to get a little attention.
We had an electronic bulletin board for posting classifieds at work that was just shutdown because someone posted a message that they didn't have anything to sell, but it looked like the postings were fun and they get in on the fun. That same moron came back later and posted an ad for Christmas Trees and went on to say that they can be purchased from various charities on nearly any street corner around town. Do you see any sense in that?
We just can't escape the torment of the idiots with no life and nothing really to say.

Maybe what they ask are questions YOU have always wondered about but were afraid to ask. No question is stupid if it's a geniune question, with or without common sense.
