I need a recipe out of this cookbook really bad. I moved and I can't find my copy. I'm looking for the recipe called "Grandmother's Dressing." I have looked on Southern Living's website with no luck. Thank you!

Thank you soooo much!!! This is the best recipe for dressing. FYI I've made the cornbread from scratch and also used "Jiffy" mix....it's good both ways!

Here you go. Grandmothers Dressing Southern Living 1991, page 254
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
8 slices day-old break, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
3/4 cup celery
3/4 onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp poultry seasoning
2 tsp white pepper
2 tsp rubbed sage
1 to2 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp celery salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3 eggs beaten
2 (14 1/2) ounce cans ready to serve chicken broth
Spoon shortening into an 8inch cast iron skillet. Place in a 425 oven for 4 minutes or until hot.
Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in a large bowl; add 2 eggs and buttermilk, stirring well. Spoon into hot skillet, and bake at 425 fro 35 minutes or until browned.
Cool; crumble cornbread into a large bowl. Add bread cubes and remaining ingredients, stirring well. Spoon into a lightly greased 13x9x2inch baking dish, and bake at 325 for 1 hour or until golden brown. Yield 8 to 10 servings.

Little did I know until I looked this up that it is also the recipe I use for dressing.
Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving
