The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie's for sale

I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home

I read in the paper there are robbers (roof! roof!)
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark

I don't want a bunny or a kitty
I don't want a parrot that talks
I don't want a bowl of little fishies
He can't take a goldfish for a walk

What a fantastic question. Oh boy... that takes me back. Hmmmm ah yes I remember it well. How could I ever forget.

You wouldn't believe it but I got a version of that which is sung BACKWARDS.

Even now, some thirty (yes that's right, thirty) years later, I still carry the words around in my brain.

THAT demonstrates just how impressionable young children are.

I promise I don't have to look this up:-

Window the in doggie that is much how,
Tail waggily, the with one the
Window the in doggie that is much how,
Sale for doggy's that hope do I.

I think it was by Tim Rice or Andrew Lloyd Webber or both

The flip side was better it was called Child of the Fifties and not a bad song, as I recall.

That'll teach you to ask. Night

Too much, go to a shelter if you really want a dog with a waggly tail. It will be happy to have a good home.

Too expensive. You are better to go to the RSPCA or any animal ahelter and help an animal who needs a home.
