Apply an icepack to the hickey. Do this as soon as possible after receiving the hickey. You can wrap some ice in a towel, use a pre-frozen ice pack, or put a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes. Gently hold the cold compress to the skin for several minutes (up to 20 minutes, if it doesn’t feel too uncomfortable on your skin), remove for several minutes, and then apply it again. A cold spoon from the freezer helps too.
--
Conceal the hickey with makeup. The best makeup for this will be the green-tinted concealer, as it is designed to negate red skin tones. Apply a foundation that’s a little lighter than your skin tone. Apply it directly on the hickey and all around it so it doesn’t look obvious that you’re trying to conceal something. You can try an eyeshadow that’s lighter than your skin tone if you don’t have a concealer. When using a concealer, use a brush for it and make light swipes.
--
Use a coin. This method is probably the most painful, but has proven VERY effective. First, stretch the skin flat or pulling away from the hickey on two opposite sides works well for this. Then, use the edge of a large coin to scrape the skin. Use the coin as if the red area of the skin was butter on toast that needed to be spread outward. The only difference is that you must press quite HARD (do it as hard as you can, but not so hard that you break the skin or cause bleeding). There will be redness from the scraping of the coin, but that will go away much faster than the hickey. And in any case, a scrape is much less conspicuous than a hickey.

Accidents happen, and a passionate kiss can lead to that telltale mark of love: a hickey. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about this affliction. A hickey is nothing more than a bruise, and like all bruises it just needs some time to heal. You can, however, try a few tricks to make it fade faster. STEP 1: Apply a cold compress immediately (although that may interrupt a moment of passion). Keep the compress on 20 minutes, off 20 minutes. The cold will constrict blood vessels and help keep the bruise from spreading. STEP 2: If the hickey lasts for more than 48 hours, apply wet, warm compresses to decrease any pain or swelling. Once the blood has stopped spreading around the bruise, apply heat, which dilates blood vessels and thus speeds up the sweeping away of blood cells. In most cases, moist heat is more effective than dry heat, because the moisture helps wick the heat beneath the skin. STEP 3: Apply concealer in a shade that's lighter than your natural skin color and discreet enough to fend off unwanted attention STEP 4: Remember that if all else fails, nothing beats a turtleneck sweater - or a scarf in summer. To avoid getting a hickey in the first place, kiss a little more gently.

malyssa said: get a lipstick tube and twist the end of it on the hickey really hard .the skin should twist with it .it hurts a little but reduces quite a bit.

This is what i do except i run warm water over an ice cube till it fits inside the top of the libstick tube. round tubes work best. then dry it, warm it, put some conceler on it. Ive been doing this for 7years(I'm 22)

Get a white onion. Cut it into half. Then rub the "interior" of the onion on the hickie.

Mild burning sensation will be felt. But it works for me. Although the hickie wont go away totally, but it will help reduce the visibility.

haha!!!! tell your man "NO HICKIES!!!"

I had a few of em when I was a teen and I heard MANY different methods like the frozen spoon, a quarter, etc, etc...none of em worked...they have to go away on their own.
Its bad enough I had a small one that I could barely see a few weeks ago...I was embarassed to get to work! It'll go away...just give it some time and some concealer to cover it up for now

Go to a chemist or beauty section of your local supermarket and get some Arnica gel/cream. It is fantastic to help bruises heal and fade quicker.

USE LIQUID FOUNDATION ON A SPONGE. JUST MAKE SURE THE FOUNDATION IS EITHER THE SHADE OF YOUR SKINTONE OR EVEN A SHADE LIGHTER WON'T SHOW.

THE NEXT TIME HE/SHE GETS A LITTLE TOO FRISKY.....MAKE SURE THE HICKIES WILL BE DISCREET.

i was once told to use a toothbrush! Aparently if you brush the hickey ( maybe with toothpaste too...can't remember) that should work quite quickly!
